Who: Lila When: Wednesday night Where: Her hotel room in Genosha What: Lila is abducted.
Lila raised her arms over her head in a stretch as the bedroom door closed behind her. Genosha hadn't been what she was expecting at all. The only charity escapades in her past had been pasting on a smile and showing up at a gala in a pretty dress and sparkly jewelry. This was something else. This had been a lot of talking with the press and mutant rights groups, visiting orphanages and that sort of thing.
She was exhausted, everything hurt, and she was pretty sure she'd actually gotten a sunburn. The rest of the band had gone out for an evening on the town, but she was tired. Now though, as shadows danced and swirled around her, she wished she'd taken him up on it. Her hotel room was lonely, quiet, and she and Tony weren't talking at the moment. It was his loss.
She crossed her arms, rubbing them briskly to get rid of the goosebumps that had crept over them. She had a sinking sensation in her stomach and she bit her lower lip as she surveyed her surroundings. Something didn't feel quite right.
It took a few seconds for her eyes to adjust, but there was a man leaning against the wall, just standing there, watching her as if she was the next thing on the menu. She turned to run, but her reaction was a split second too late.
The man pushed himself off the wall, reaching for her. "Not so fast, princess." Catching a handful of her hair, he dragged her towards him. Throwing her against the wall, he leaned in towards her, his hand still fisted in her hair. "Jasmine," he sniffed. "I like it."
She winced as she hit the wall, flinching away as he leaned in. "Look," she said, willing her voice to not shake. "You can leave now, and I won't tell anyone about this." She tried to remember what she'd been taught about getting out of situations like this, but her mind was a blank.
"Little late for that, princess." He leaned in closer and bit at her neck. Lila closed her eyes, a sob escaping from her throat, but all he did was snap a little metal collar around her neck. "You're here, I'm here." He cocked his head to the side, listening to the chime of bells that signaled the midnight hour. "And we've got some lovely background music."
She tried to teleport, but she couldn't. Her eyes widened and she began to struggle. "Please, let me go. I won't tell anyone, just let me go." Her struggling seemed to be in vain, though. He was much larger than her, and didn't seem inclined to move.
"Of course you won't," he agreed, reaching out with a finger to wipe away a tear that had begun rolling down her cheek. He ruined the image by licking the salty liquid off. His hand trailed down and he closed it around her neck, just above the collar he'd put on her. Shoving his knee in between her legs, he tightened his grip on her throat, just above the collar. "You know how I know that, princess? Because no one you know will ever see you again."
His hand continued to tighten, and she thought she might pass out, but another man stepped in the door. He glanced up at the pair and smirked slightly.
"Josef. Not on the job, my friend." She was a tight little bit, but high profile. They couldn't have fun with this one.
The man, Josef, turned and glared before focusing back on Lila. "Another time, perhaps." He pressed a bruising kiss against her lips before letting go. The last thing she saw was a tightly balled fist heading for her head, and then it all went dark.
