Who: Remy and Rogue When: Backdated to December 26 Where: Outside her dorm room What: Delivering late Christmas presents
Remy had started leaving gifts outside of rooms the day after Christmas - he had to have everything ordered online and delivered since leaving to go to the city was pretty much tantamount to suicide for him. He was pretty satisfied with his array of gifts, though, which included: The Princess and the Frog cookbook full of easy Cajun recipes with the note "For when you can eat fun food again, plus it's all kid friendly for when the kid gets to be a bigger kid" for Lorna; a stack of classic English dessert recipes with the note "I still say the way to his heart is through his stomach and your pretty eyes" for Meggan; some new shoot 'em up video games for Wade; the same nut basket everyone seemed to have gotten Doreen; and a Cougar Crossing sign for Madame Darkholme. He couldn't pass that one up when he saw it.
He had gotten everyone a gift. The carefree teen had even fewer cares about money than he did most things. He had definitely copied Pietro, adding a Three Musketeers bar to the top of his and Terry's presents, leaving Pietro a note, "Meet you in the Rec Room tonight for booze and pizza." Tabby got a box of Explosive Snaps to go with hers. He liked the little gifts as much as the bigger ones (which included a new lock pick set for Tabby with the note, "Sometimes, just sometimes, it's good to be subtle).
Remy still had the beautiful metal charm bracelet loaded with hearts and inspired by New Orleans that he had bought for her back just days before their first breakup. He had never found a chance to give it to her. Well, he was finding that chance now. He wasn't sure if he wanted to see her or not. But Raven's warning was growing fainter and fainter, especially with the tragedy that now loomed overhead.
So he worked up the courage to knock. He took a deep breath and knocked gently on the door, figuring if he was lucky, Rogue would answer and Tabby would be out. Or maybe luck would be vice-versa, leaving him with Tabby. He shook his head, looking down. He had already set Tabby's gift beside the door and held Rogue's present in his hands.
