Who: Kurt and Remy When: Tuesday morning before classes Where: Observatory What: A heart to heart
The sun was shining. Remy wished it would rain to match his mood. He was losing his touch for dramatics and that bothered him. He had overcompensated that morning, leaving an extravagant display of roses and cards in Rogue’s room, but he couldn’t face her, not yet. Not when he was feeling so vulnerable. He didn’t realize he would feel quite so open upon coming back, but then that was Meggan’s charm. He had opened up a little to her, and knew she could feel much more than he let on. He didn’t mention the intense feelings of guilt that plagued him, couldn’t bring himself to explain them. He didn’t want to hurt her like he’d hurt so many. He had to take his leave of her much sooner than he would have liked. She was soothing, but he just could not risk hurting her.
He was afraid to opening up to anyone else, but had to battle the urge to do so that speaking with Meggan had conjured. He felt calmed, but the feelings ebbed away after he left Meggan. Maybe he should have stuck around longer. Less than a half hour before class, after informing Xavier as briefly as possible that he was back and leaving the roses all over Rogue’s half of her room, he sought solo refuge. He didn’t know how that would work out, but he had come to learn something during his brief sojourn. He wasn’t over Rogue. He needed her in his life.
The observatory was his thinking spot. He had acquired some cigarettes and leaned against the railing, smoking quite openly. He knew it wouldn’t be hard for staff to notice if they looked to the top of the observatory, but he didn’t care. Maybe detention would be a good distraction. He hoped everyone would be too busy getting ready for class to look for him. He could announce his arrival later.
