I came home and everything just seemed quite different. I couldn't put my finger on it, but by the time that Emily walked out of the bathroom, I could see it clearly. She stood in front of me and my eyes scanned up her body and to her face. Once our eyes met, I shied away and looked back at the magazine I picked up for her. Cosmopolitan. I read a few pages on the way home and it was ... interesting. Pushing the magazine away, I turned around and actually wondered where she was off to. It was no secret that I've known she'd been going back to the penthouse where I knew a vampire was being caged up in the bedroom. What confused me was why the vampire wasn't dust yet. I didn't mention anything about that though. I knew what he did to her, and less talk about Angelus, the better.
"You look beautiful," I said honestly and bit my lower lip. She did. Swallowing, I glanced over at the clock before looking at her again.
"You come and go as you please, you've already made it known that you'd wish I wouldn't keep my eyes on you." It didn't matter, I already did. I've always had. The night that Angelus got to her though - I regret. I should have been there for her and I wasn't. Emily was growing on me and it was difficult to realize that, but she was. She had for a while.
"But, if you want me to go, then I'll go," I smirked and looked her over again. "Nice shoes," I said and walked past her and toward the bedroom.
