Looking past Angelus out through the window of the car I saw a dark figure standing in the shadows. I narrowed my eyes and tried to look more carefully but whoever it was just turned their back and walked off. Josh? I hadn't seen him in weeks now, hadn't heard from either. I was starting to wonder if he was off stalking some other girl. "What?" I asked, suddenly turning my attention back to Angelus who was giving me a curious look.
"Oh, no." I replied just as easily and carefully. I really shouldn't have let myself get distracted anyway. It wasn't fair to Angelus and I'm so not thinking about stupid, annoying Josh tonight anyway. Nope. Not me. "Not very often." I clarified, the slight hint of a smile touching my mouth. After all, it wasn't like I needed to see him, right? This was a deal. Right, Emily. Just a deal.
I narrowed my eyes at him and then quickly corrected it, deciding quickly not to get angry with him. It wouldn't do me any good and I knew how to behave around Angelus. Getting angry wasn't really helpful. Just remember, find your zen. Yeah, I was totally finding my zen.
"Concerned for my well-being?" I asked him curiously. "It wasn't my head that got messed with. You should be concerned about Faith." I told him seriously. What? I knew that they were like enemies or friends or frienemies I guess but if anyone ended up hurt in that scenario it was Faith and okay, Sam Winchester too. I was fine. Just a little lonely after Faith ditched me for a couple of days.
