"Not like us, no," David finished, not having the same qualms about the whole group dynamic as Michael had. "And no, I didn't know. I thought we were it. You wanted Vampires, we fit the description - the only description."
He snarled quietly out of a slight frustration. "Those of us who don't or can't go out during the day are weak, apparently. You think we're weak, Michael? You think I'm weak?"
He narrowed his eyes. Was Michael trying to bait him? Surely he wouldn't be quite so damn stupid. "YES, because I can't. If I could come and go then maybe I'd be a little happier about staying here, but nobody tells me what to do. And nobody presents a situation to me as a done fucking deal when I haven't even been consulted about it."
He clenched his fists. "Why? You still happy to stay now you know the truth?"
