David stopped the Triumph outside the place he'd sent the package to the other day. He killed the engine and sat, watching the building.
There'd been no mistaking Michael's growing discomfort. Even at a distance David could tell he'd gotten to him, well and truly.
He grinned, scanning the windows with slightly narrowed eyes. Of course, Michael might not even be there. After all he wasn't quite so limited as David as to when he could be outside. Still, the whole idea of the exercise was just to be seen at close quarters. If there was a meeting, then that would just be a bonus.
He took a cigarette from a pack in his jacket breast pocket, took a large silver-colored lighter from his jeans, and lit the cigarette. Then he took a long draw and exhaled, whispering as he did so.
