The cousins were use to going out and ‘slayin’ or ‘huntin’ depending on which cousin was leading the gig. Lately, since Lucifer had up and taken residence to what seemed to be two apartment buildings over, the girls had separated their efforts. That pissed Faith off, not that she was all team spirit, that wasn’t it, and things were more fun with Emorie. Of all her cousins, she was closest to Em. Knowing her now, that was different, their relationship, at least for Faith, had begun to change. She was now looking at Em as a little sister. The difference in age was miniscule, regardless if she were right or wrong; Faith would claim to be the oldest and would until her dying day.
Neither would admit, but their bond was growing stronger, and at least for Faith, she preferred fighting with Em, it was like fighting with Buffy but better. Granted it had taken time for them to really deeply respect each other for the talents and skills they possessed. Individually trained, together they were amazing like bagels and lox. They had an electric chemistry; Faith often wondered if the slayer blood had to do with blood lines. In her spare time this gave Faith a great deal to ponder. Dawn had been the key, sharing Buffy’s bloodline was a step of Faith, but what if Faith had not had the short straw, would it have gone to Emorie? Those thoughts made her younger cousin that much more important to wilder slayer.
Between boyfriends, plagues, and pimples, the girls hadn’t had ‘cousin time,’ as it was now referred. Quickly becoming tradition, nothing stopped cousin time. Of course that wasn’t true, but that’s how Faith felt. If they were sparring, then the boyfriend would have to spar as well.
