"Nah, they just knew I might be more of a flight risk," she joked, chuckling softly. Running a hand through her hair, she rocked back and forth on her heels for a moment. Now that he wasn't holding on to her, she didn't know exactly what do say or do.
It was just easier when all she had to do was hug him and be comfortable. Now the awkwardness had set in. "Meh... is there really anything else to do? I mean, I've got a good set up. A job, a diner, a house. Its nice. I don't need much of anything else."
She didn't know what he meant by making the same mistakes he did, but she knew he was there and she was there... and she still wondered whether the time and place would ever be right. But she didn't wonder about it all the time now. Dying kind of put things in perspective. There would always be more important things than whether or not someone loved her.
