Sam arched a brow slightly and tried to keep his amused expression on his face down to a minimum. "I doubt that the house didn't like you, but wow. A haunted house. Who knew that such things existed?" he commented. Of course, this was all just a facade. Him and Dean had been getting to the sites to exorcise the ghosts before anyone else had the chance to.
A grin appeared on the younger Winchester's face. "Looks like I'm not the only one that gets really into their research," Sam said light heartedly. "My older brother calls me a nerd because of it." He had briefly told her about Dean, though going by an entirely different name. "But he's the self-proclaimed King of Cool, so I guess anyone that likes doing it is going to be called one," he continued, mentally rolling his eyes at Dean calling him that, though it'd been ages since the older of the two did.
He nodded, understandingly about how school projects were. You always wanted to keep the other person happy, no matter what it was on. But if she felt that he deserved better, then he felt the same. But normal was good. It wasn't difficult to keep up the fake front that he built but for the moment, just being Jim and with Alison was good enough for him. "Yeah, it is," he said in agreement when she mentioned her grandmother doing better. "Well it's, like you said, nostalgic. And since it was kind-of spur of the moment, I figured why not?" he let his shoulders shrug a little, but the grin never left his face. "I like it, too."
