Sam nodded, remembering their first run-in at the library where he volunteered himself to help her with the research. An eyebrow rose on his forehead, and a disbelieving look appeared on his face, as if he never believed in haunted houses his whole life - but that was just the cover story, a lie to get by on. "Haunted? Seriously?" he asked. He'd have to tell Dean this one, then go out to the house itself, but that would all come later. Right now, he was was playing his part as Jim - wait. He heard all of this before. Playing roles, the apocalypse - Gabriel. Just what he didn't need right now. Sam mentally swore up and down that if that tricky archangel was fucking with his head again, it'd be worse than the holy fire.
A small smile appeared on his face again, after she said that she was okay. "Just as long as you're okay," he commented. Alison had no idea how much Sam just wanted to be himself, and quit all of the lies that he told. But such was the life of a hunter, and if Sam wanted to be normal, even for right now, he had to do it. It was bad enough that Echo knew, imagine that if Alison found out.
"I missed you too, Ali. Always," Sam said before taking a look at the menu and deciding what to get. Once his mind was made up, he looked at her. "So, other than going to a supposed haunted house and getting banged up, how's school going?" he asked. Sam barely saw her around campus, and kind of pegged her for the social type.
