THE STORY
Los Angelos. The city of angels. A city made victim of urban sprawl and crime. Maybe you've just moved in. Maybe you were born and raised here. Whatever the case, this is where you start. You go about your day-to-day life as you always have, except for one little thing.
They started a month ago—the nightmares. When you closed your eyes, there was no rest. Instead you found yourself trapped in an abandoned town full of swirling mist that tricked the eyes, and shambling shadows you dared not approach. The place so real you could have sworn you were awake. An overwhelming sense of dread pervaded these nightmares. You awoke abruptly, each night, sometimes more than once. Sweat pouring down your neck, your heart raced. It took long, long minutes to shake off this nameless fear.
Nothing, not even drugs would keep the nightmares away.
Always when you dreamed, you wandered the streets, unable to get into any of the buildings. Unable to open the beaten, weathered doors or peer in through the ash-clouded windows. You never met anyone. Not one person, or creature. Not so much as a fly. Until one night, when it all changed.
When at last you found the sleep you’ve begun to dread, you awoke again into the dream—only it was so much different. You didn’t wander the street. Instead, you found yourself lying on a hotel bed, the covers a dingy gray-blue. The proportions of the room were small, just enough to sleep in, not much else. A dusty, out of date television sat on top of the dresser across the room from you. It was on, tuned to nothing but silent snow. The grainy static seemed to be all you could pick up, but when you stared at it long enough…you thought you saw something.
Something horrible.
THE MEANING
So, mainly, your character is in store for dreams that mimic reality in a more twisted sense. Dreams that place him or her in Silent Hill. Yeah, that’s great and all, but it doesn’t tell you, the player, much of what to expect.
This game will not be easy. Your character could die, easily. You don’t start out with weapons. You don’t start out with flashlights, and no, you don’t even start out with radios. When you begin your time in Silent Hill, you’ll have nothing but the clothes on your back and yourself to rely on. Maybe some pocket lint or a stick of gum.
This is meant to be a survival horror game with an emphasis on both survival and horror. The monsters are going to be tough and cooperation is going to be key—after all, that’s why we came here right? At the same time your character is going to find himself or herself not wanting to cooperate with the people here.
So, what do you expect?
This game is a loose combination of the premises of Everworld and Silent Hill, with a stronger influence from Silent Hill. Didn’t read Everworld?
“The idea of Everworld is that, many years ago (said to be near 1,000 years in Everworld time), the ruling gods of every pantheon (including Zeus, Odin, and Ra) assembled and agreed to abandon this world, known as the Old World, and create a new one called Everworld. The exact details of why they did this are unknown, though it has been suggested that as humans became more advanced, the gods realized they couldn't control this world anymore, but this is uncertain. In any event, Everworld was created, and the gods went across it, bringing with them every variety of magical creatures, as well as various human worshippers to continue serving them. The barrier between these two worlds was apparently weak for a while, allowing later medieval beings (such as the wizard Merlin) to cross over as well, but by now, is almost closed.
Apparently, certain humans have the power to open a gateway between Everworld and other worlds.” ----Taken from Wikipedia.
