I'm sorry if this is news to anyone, but ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif)
sv_ledger has never been an all-inclusive newsletter. This has never been a secret and is stated in the profile and in the FAQ (which was put up December 2006). Also, sv_ledger goes on hiatus once in a while, to give the staff a break. We're aware other fandom newsletters don't do this - they're troupers! As a point, we don't catch up on everything that was posted during hiatus - kind of renders hiatus pointless. If an on-duty editor chooses to go back further than the preceding 5 days to look for links, that is awesome, but not required post-hiatus.
Summary:rose_etta mails sv_ledger in regards to one of her fics which we supposedly missed, asking us to link. When we refrain from linking to the fic, first on grounds that we ask self-pimped fics have been recently recced, later that too much time has passed and we already have enough newer fics to link to, rose_etta is upset and accuses us of cliquishness. When it turns out the fic was in fact already linked to in an issue previous to her first mail, she accuses us first of retroactively editing the issue in question, next of orchestrating it all just to fuck with her.

I'm not sure how to end this. My memory is notoriously bad, and I made the mistake of assumingrose_etta was right when she said her fic had not been linked. Policies regarding links now in place at sv_ledger have been in place since day one, with only minor changes, and we have always been open about having these policies (there was a poll regarding fic policies posted in November 2006, with a majority of readers being happy with how things were done).
Did we orchestrate this to fuck withrose_etta? No. allzugern tells me I need to qualify this to point out the absurdity of the allegation. I feel the absurdity speaks for itself. But ok: Seriously, you think we have the time or inclination to pull shit like this??
