Idk, it's a date and it's them, so not much is liable to happen. Warnings: None anticipated Summary: Date number two. Or three if you're seriously keeping count
When she told him to let himself in, Anna had already changed into her bathing suit for the day - red this time. Not because she was trying to impress, but because she'd always wanted a red bikini and had never been able to find one that complimented her figure very well. Except now...all of that seemed kind of blurred. She hadn't known why she'd asked him that question - it had been just as a tease, but then she realized that it had probably sounded a little off. The fact of the matter was, this might have been a date. Maybe. And whether it was or not, the point wasn't to scare him off. Anna knew that Cas was still really confused right now and whatever this was between them...it could all be gone tomorrow.
So it was just a red bikini and it was just a swim at the beach. Reading any further into it could only get someone hurt. And even angels got sick of being hurt.
"You ready to go?" she asked, applying lip balm to her lower lip.
She could see him in the mirror behind her - he'd changed like he said he wanted to and yet again, she did her best not to focus on his chest or his arms or anything else. Yet the more she tried not to look, the more aware she definitely was. Turning around, she steeled herself and met his eyes, business as usual and no indication that this was anything more than what they'd agreed to. "I already have towels and sunscreen set up for us," she said, taking said objects off the bed. "Although if you wanna wait and apply that here, you probably should. The sun's a little strong down there. And the last thing you want is a bad sunburn. It could color the experience for you and not really in a good way."
She might have smiled a little self-deprecatingly about that, knowing from experience. The inability to tan and only freckle if she was lucky kind of dictated how every beach visit had ever been for her. Now she was just trying exceptionally hard not to turn as red as her hair or her suit and wondering why she couldn't just turn it off. She could damn well turn everything else off. Yet Cas was always the exception. "And I'm gonna warn you now - I pretty much owe you for the last splash attack."
