He was human. It was hardly the first time Sam had run into an angel that had become human, and a version of that angel was on this very ship. But that had been a very different set of circumstances. If she'd had to guess, she'd have said that this wasn't Cas's choice. The Castiel she'd known had never wanted to be human, so far as Sam knew; she certainly hadn't liked it much when she'd ended up without her powers. And now Cas was having to deal with everything that came with being human, which meant-- well, first of all, needing to fulfill biological requirements to stay alive.
"You should eat," she said, instead of asking the other questions she wanted to ask. Hunger probably wasn't going to kill him in the next few minutes, but it was making him uncomfortable. "Come on, let's go to the cafeteria. I'll show you what's edible, and what isn't."
And then maybe he could catch her up on everything else. On how he'd become human, for starters. She sensed that it had been a traumatizing experience, but then, nothing in their lives was ever pleasant. What mattered was coping with it and being able to keep moving forward. Except-- speaking of movement, he didn't really look like he wanted to move. "Or do you want to stay here, and I'll get you something?"
