Lucas had caught the girl's eye from across the room and was smiling right back at her as he made his way towards her. Then it seemed like the world slowed down and everything began to happen in slow motion. He watched her move away from the lockers and saw the crowd of popular kids heading down the hall past her. One of which, a football playing boy, reached out and shoved her against the locker. To say that he went a little crazy would have been an understatement. He saw red and his temper got the best of him and before he could even think about what he was doing, he'd dropped his backpack and hurled himself at the guy that had pushed Alanna.
Snatching the guy by his jacket, he shoved him into the lockers, then jerked him to the other side of the hallway into another set of lockers before pushing him to the floor and immediately following after him with a fist to the guy's face. His reflexes were fast, being a bird shifter did help with certain things, but the guy recovered enough from the onslaught to get in a good punch to Lucas's ribs. By the time a teacher could break up the fight, Lucas had what was certainly going to be a black eye and the other boy had a fat lip and a bloody nose and most likely a slew of bruises beneath that letterman jacket.
The boy was carted off to the nurses station and Lucas and Alanna were taken to the principal's office. It was there that his mother was called into the school. Lucas wasn't happy about that to say the least. "I don't know why I'm in trouble when he started it. He pushed a girl into a locker. Shouldn't he be the one getting his parents called?" he questioned. It just didn't make any damn sense to Lucas and he wanted to stomp out of the office in a tantrum but leaving Alanna wasn't something he planned on doing. Reaching across the gap between their chairs, he took her hand and gave her fingers a squeeze.
"Mr. Hunter, he may have pushed Ms. Kingsley, but everyone in the hallway can attest to the fact that you threw the first punch." he reminded the boy. "His parents will be called as well, but your mother has every right to be notified of your suspension, the fight and the situation in general."
