Pasha knew that he would not be a good match for this Xander kid for various reasons. While Pasha wasn't a startling or even a very scary looking guy, he wasn't cut out to be a mother hen for a boy who'd lost his parents, witch or otherwise. Julianna, however, was the perfect mother hen and a witch herself. So when presented with the challenge of finding someone to help Phoebe get this kid on the straight and narrow, the first person that came to his mind was the pretty Italian woman.
He'd called her up and asked if they could meet to which she responded with an invitation to lunch, just one more little bit of proof that shew as nothing if not maternal. He graciously accepted and arrived on time to the woman's home that she shared with her husband, the doctor. Reaching out and ringing the doorbell with a smile on his face, Pasha decided that this was one of his best ideas yet. Surely Phoebe would be pleased.
Julianna was pleased to be having Pasha over for lunch. She hadn't seen him in a while. In fact, she hadn't seen him since before her wedding and pregnancy. He worked hard at the SAO for Ms. Miller which kept him busy so it was rare they got to see each other much anymore. She had made sausage and pepper heros for lunch and fresh sweet tea. She heard the doorbell and smiled, making her way to the front door and opening it. "Hi Pasha!" she said, hugging him, the start of her baby belly bumping him a bit. "Come on in, lunch is all ready." she said, ushering him in the house.
While Pasha knew that Julianna was pregnant, it was certainly different to see her with baby belly. "Hey yourself." he murmured, giving her a hug in return before following her into the house. "Thanks for having me over." he told her as he shrugged out of his jacket and hung it up near the door. "I hope you didn't go to too much trouble."
"Oh, it's no trouble at all." she said as she led him into the kitchen. She had finally gotten all of her spell work supplies settled as she liked it and was currently working on a batch of calming tea bags for Dr. Gibbons, a psychiatrist that sometimes worked with her husband. "Sit, relax. I hope you like sausage and peppers...Of course if not I can make something else." she said as she poured them both sweet tea and sat. "So, what was it you wanted to talk to me about?"
"Julianna, котёнок, I'll eat anything you put in front of me. I'm a man, not a picky twelve year old." he grinned. Sitting down where she'd instructed him to, he let out a breath. "Well I want to ask you a bit of a favor. Both for myself and for Phoebe. You see there's this boy, a witch, and he's recently been embroiled in a legal battle after the deaths of his parents. He's... damaged to say the least. He could use a calm and non-judgemental hand. I don't think that I'd be the best fit for him, but you're far more gentle than I, Julianna. Would you mind terribly in taking him on as a charge. Teaching him the ways of the good side of magic?" It was a lot to ask, he knew, especially of a woman who was pregnant, but he wasn't sure what other options he really had.
One thing abut Julianna was, she was a helper. She would happily give someone the shirt of her back if they needed it. One winter she bought sixteen coats because she kept giving hers away to homeless on the streets. She listened to Pasha and smiled. "Of course I will, Pasha...Does he need a place to stay for a while?" she asked, thinking the young man could stay in the nursery until the baby came. She would have to ask Adam of course, but she couldn't see him saying no helping a boy who had just lost both of his parents.
Pasha shook his head. "No. He's got a little house out in the middle of nowhere. It's not much, but it's his and so he doesn't have to have somewhere to stay or anything, but he does need someone to check in on him occasionally and from what I hear, he's never really had a lot of learning experiences when it comes to his craft so a bit of tutoring in all things magic wouldn't hurt the kid. His name is Xander. I can give you his address and directions to his place. Or his phone number if you'd rather call or whatever beforehand. But I'd really owe you one if you decide to help me out." And he intended to repay any debt he owed.
"Pasha, you should know better. You don't owe me anything. Thing young man needs help and guidance and I'm more than happy to provide." she said as she began to eat her lunch and gave him a look that indicated he better start eating as well. "I'll give him a call and go visit him, see what I can do."
He knew that look so he picked up a bite of his food and ate it. "Thanks." he told her. "It means a lot to me. And to Phoebe, I'm sure she appreciates this even more than I do. By the way... this is delicious." he grinned. He definitely missed home cooking, that was for sure.
Julianna smiled, always pleased someone liked her cooking. "You're welcome." she said warmly. "And don't worry, I already packed you up some to take home." Again a sign of her mothering. Julianna was going to be a wonderful mother when her child was born. She just lived to care for others.
