Boyfriend meets Daddy
Who: Josslyn, Sean and Jacob
What: Awkwardness followed by serious conversations
When: Thursday Evening
Where: The Palace
Warnings: Being terrified by an old vampire?
Sean hadn't meant to stay up the whole night with Josslyn. He also hadn't intended to fall asleep at the palace. More so than either of those, he hadn't planned on staying asleep the whole damn day and into the sunset on Thursday. Unfortunately he had. He and Josslyn had spent the evening just having fun together which ended with a movie in her bedroom and eventually resulted in the both of them falling asleep in each other's arms, him above the blankets and her beneath them. He was still sleeping when Jacob entered the room that evening to rouse his daughter.
"Josslyn, darling, are you going to sleep the night away?" he asked as he flipped on the light switch near her door. His brows went up at the sight he beheld and he blinked before clearing his throat. "Not sure if I'm serious about him my ancient white ass." he commented as he folded his arms across his chest and tapped the toe of his shoe against the floor beneath him. It seemed that he was going to have to have a talk with this boy sooner than he'd intended to.
Josslyn had had the most wonderful evening with Sean the night before. Her boyfriend. It was an odd thing, having a boyfriend. She had never had one before. So far, she really liked it. While she was dead during the day, she could still dream and wrapped up on Sean's arms, all she dreamed of was him. She was in a very nice dream when a tapping broke into it. She looked around, trying to find the source of tapping in her dream until it brought her to wakefulness.
At first, all she saw was Sean. She smiled softly and reached up to touch his cheek before the tapping really registered. She turned and saw her father, which made her leap from the bed. She was fully dressed in a nightgown along with Sean being on top of the blankets so nothing of that sort happened, but Josslyn was still a bit mortified for her dad to find her curled up in bed with a boy. "Uh, hi daddy." she said, unconsciously moving to place herself between her father and Sean, her vampiric instinct to protect him stronger than her common sense.
Jacob, though surprised - well, sort of - wasn't angry. He knew well and good that Josslyn hadn't done anything with the boy that involved clothing less than what she was wearing and honestly he wouldn't really have cared if she had. "I suppose you've decided that you care about him more than you were willing to admit before." he commented as he stilled his foot on the floor and let his eyes flick to the still sleeping boy who lay in the bed. "Relationships between humans and vampires are far more difficult than you realize, Josslyn. While I'm not telling you that you're not allowed to be with him - in whatever manner you so choose - you really need to think long and hard about this before you go into it. And I want to speak with him. Because if he breaks your heart, I may have to break his neck." he said. Though there was plenty of truth in his statement - being that he'd protect Josslyn from any hurt that he could, his tone was still light and almost teasing.
Josslyn moved a bit closer to Sean. She knew he was only teasing, but the mere thought of anyone hurting Sean made her fangs come out which she tried to hide. "I need him daddy." she said softly as not to wake Sean. She knew he didn't sleep much with his work and school and she didn't want to disturb him. "I don't understand it, but I need him close to me all the time and...I want Sean to stay here with me. We can figure out the logistics later, right?"
She might not have understood, but the way she moved and the way she spoke of the boy, Jacob knew exactly what was going on. He didn't mention it just yet, wanting to converse with Elizabeth about the situation before he explained it all to Josslyn. "I'll have to talk to Elizabeth about that, my dear, but I'll see what I can do." Jacob was biased when it came to Josslyn and would have given her anything she asked for, but he wanted to at least pretend he was being a bit more strict than he really was. "Either way you should wake the boy up." he murmured. "I'm sure he probably didn't plan to sleep the day away. I suppose I can wait to have that talk with him until later."
Josslyn nodded and climbed back onto the large bed, very gently brushing Sean's hair back from hid forehead. Her blue eyes were filled with a deep devotion for the human boy and it was as if her father wasn't in the room anymore once her full attention was on Sean. "Sean...it's time to wake up." she murmured softly.
Sean had been oblivious to the goings on around him until Josslyn brushed his hair back and woke him. He smiled a little as she came into view, looking akin to an angel with those golden curls. But then he blinked and realized it wasn't just Josslyn in the room. He sat up quickly, a flush on his face as he caught sight of Jacob - the scary looking man that Josslyn called 'Daddy' - and prayed silently that he wasn't about to die a horrible death. "I... I... I..." he began, though he just couldn't seem to form words.
"I'm not going to eat you." Jacob told him. "Nor am I going to slice you open and hang you from anything or skin you alive or whatever else you're imagining. But I am going to tell you that you had best have the best of intentions with my daughter or you'll have me to answer to. And you should also know that it's after sunset and unless you plan on spending another night here, you might want to get out of the bed."
Josslyn gave her father a little it of a glare, but it wasn't much. She gave Sean a kiss on the forehead before slipping from the bed and going to her closet. It seemed the servants had been at work because there was modern clothing in Sean's size on one side. With a smile she got him a pair of jeans that likely cost more than his car, a t-shirt, and a zip up hoodie. She brought the clothes and laid them out on the bed, smoothing them like it was some kind of fancy suit. "You can shower in my bathroom and change if you want to." she said with a small smile, trying to keep him calm in front of her father.
"What time is it?" he questioned, though he was still looking at Jacob because the guy was startling and dangerous looking and proper all at the same time. It was a creepy combination. "Crap. I have class tonight." he said as he brushed a hand through his hair and looked at his watch on the other wrist. "I'm gonna have to get that shower and get out of here..." he said, not really wanting to, but really not having a choice. "I'll come see you after... if that's okay with you... sir... Mr... yeah..." He'd never gotten the man's name and he didn't really know what to call him.
"Fine, fine." Jacob told the boy. "I'll leave you two to it then. Josslyn, I'll be with Elizabeth if you need me." It was never really difficult to find Jacob in the palace, that was for sure. "Remember what I said young man." Jacob reiterated as he left the room.
The little blonde vampire smiled and gave her father a little wave, planning on hunting him down later to share a meal with him. Back on the plantation she and Jacob spent almost every waking minute together. Here at the palace it was different. Jacob had many things to attend to and Josslyn had been basically spending all of her time with Sean. She missed her father in truth.
"Don't be afraid of him." she said, giving him a kiss on the cheek. "And his name is Jacob Thomas. I guess I never mentioned that." she said as she went and got him a large, soft towel. "Go ahead and shower. I'll have some food brought you can take with you." It was nice, taking care of Sean.
It was difficult to not be afraid of Jacob. Sean took the towel from the girl and flashed her a little smile. "I'm sorry I have to rush off." he told her. "I didn't really intend on falling asleep like that and I'm sorry if I got you into any trouble with your dad..." He was still surprised that he was currently breathing after being found in bed with this guy's adopted daughter.
She shook her head. "I'm not in any trouble and neither are you." she insisted before ushering him into the huge ornate bathroom. "Wash up. I'll be in the parlor." She left him to it, ordering a rushed breakfast for him and getting his school things together for him. She hummed softly as she got everything ready, even having a lunch made for him, which was delivered quickly.
Sean didn't take long to shower and get dressed. By the time he reached the parlor, even in the short time that he'd been gone, she'd already had food brought up for him and had his backpack ready to go. He blinked a little. It was like living in a house where wishes just popped up as soon as you thought of them. "Wow." he murmured, biting his lower lip. "You didn't have to do all of this..."
Josslyn turned and smiled at him. She still had that just got out of bed mussed look about her, but she had plenty of time to ready herself for the night. She was more concerned about getting Sean ready. "I liked it." she said with a smile. "Now, you're going to be late. Here's your bag, there's lunch in there for you, and here's your breakfast, some kind of fruit turnover things." She had yet to feed so it all smelled awful to her, but the servants had assured her everything was perfect.
He couldn't do more than smile at her. "I'll be back after class." he promised her as he took the bag and the fruit turnover. "Thank you. See you tonight." he murmured before leaning in and catching her mouth in a little kiss. "Text me like a lot. Give me something to do during lecture." he grinned before heading for the door.
Her heart leaped as his lips pressed against hers and if she had fed her face would of been red. "I will." she promised, hating to watch him go. "Be careful!' she reminded him, knowing she would fret the entire time he was out of her sight and seriously considered hiring a bodyguard to protect him when she couldn't.
Sean smiled again and chuckled. "I'll be fine." he assured her with a little wave. School was going to take forever. He considered skipping but he forced himself to get out of the palace for just a little while if nothing else. He'd be back sooner rather than later, of that he was sure.
