Brother/Sister bonding
who: Lilith and Xander
what:Surprise! You has a sibling!
when: Wednesday Afternoon
where: Xander's House
warnings: Lots of swearing
Lilith peered at the creepy ass house she pulled up in front of, her 89' Buick Century protesting the abuse of the dirt road. The crap car was close to dying, but it hadn't been too keen coming from New York to Canada in the first place. She looked at the map and according to the drop of blood on it, this was where her father's mother should be. "Blood magic needs to upgrade to GPS." she muttered as she got out of the car and looked at the ramshackle building. It certainly looked like somewhere a creepy ass old woman would live....and possibly eat people.
After everything, Lilith could barely believe she had finally made it here. Using the spell she had found to find a missing relative by tracking the blood wasn't easy and had drained her, but it had been worth it. She rubbed her bandaged wrist, scowling at just how much blood she had had to use. "It better be worth it." If the woman was deranged or senile, she was not going to be pleased.
Lilith made her way to the porch, looking carefully for rotted wood as she made her way to the front door. Taking a deep breath, she knocked on the door and waited.
Xander had come home from school and actually started cleaning up the mess he had been making at his house. He'd gotten his laundry tossed into a clothes hamper and planned on seeing if Paislee could help him figure out the washing machine and dryer the next time she came over. He hadn't been expecting company, but when there was a knock at the door he figured it was probably a surprise visit from Paislee as she was pretty much the only one who knew where he lived anyway. Maybe she'd convinced her daddy to let her borrow his car.
He tossed one more pair of boxers into the hamper and made his way through the house to the front door. When he pulled it open he was greeted by a strikingly familiar looking girl. His stomach churned a little and he thought he might vomit. "My father is a fucking douchebag." he muttered, shaking his head. He wasn't stupid enough to think that this girl wasn't related to him. It was like looking into a god damned mirror only she had long hair and a vagina to go along with those blue eyes and the other features they'd obviously inherited from one Rodrick Russo. "How'd you even find me?" he asked, leaning against the door frame.
Considering Lilith was expecting a fragile old lady to answer the door, when a boy answered, basically the male version of her, she was floored. She was pretty much fucking shocked to see obviously her half-brother standing in the doorway of the shitty house. It took her a few to collect her mind before she said anything. "Yes, our father is a douchebag." she said in agreement. "Considering I was looking for our grandmother." This was fucking wild. They could of been twins. "In answer to your question, I used magic to find a relative...Just wasn't expecting a brother."
"Our grandmother has been dead for a while." he told her. "Sorry about your luck, but I'm the only one left. Even dad's dead, the fucker." he muttered, rolling his eyes at the thought of his father. Not only had the man been an abusive cunt, he'd also been fucking some other bitch and creating even more lives to be fucked up. And she was a witch. How lovely. Apparently it ran in the family. Shifting off of the door frame, he motioned for her to come in. "Might as well let you in, since you're family and all. I will warn you, however, if you're here to avenge your father's death, you might want to think twice."
Lilith walked into the house, looking around with a perked eyebrow. "Dude, you seriously need an interior decorator...or just burn the bitch down and start over." she said as she made her way to the couch and flopped down on it. "So we're it, huh? How did he die?" She had no idea about their father. She had found in her mother's journal about her grandmother in Toronto and followed that lead. It made sense now too there was only one blood drop on the map.
"Who cares what it looks like? People leave me alone because it's scary looking on the outside and I stay warm and dry so I don't really care what it looks like inside." No doubt Paislee would probably be doing a bit of decorating when they got past the fucking like rabbits bit, but he quite liked where they were currently at. "I killed him." he said simply, folding his arms across his chest as he let his eyes wander over the girl. His sister. "Believe me, he wasn't worth meeting."
She blinked several times. Now the avenging comment made sense. "You killed him? Shit....by the sounds of it he deserved it..." Lilith had to admit she wasn't too sad he was dead. Once finding out about her own magic, her mother's death was speculated to have magic involved and she wondered if it had been her father that had killed her. "Why'd you off him?"
"He killed my mother. After spending my entire life beating her and me, he finally graduated to murder and I witnessed it. It was him or me and I sure as shit wasn't going to die so..." he shrugged. There wasn't much more to it than that. "It was big time news for a while." he told her. "Supernatural witch kills father; claims self defense. That's why I came here, to get out of the limelight." he muttered, finally moving to sit on the sofa beside the girl. She didn't seem to be a threat. "So why did you want to find a relative?"
She blinked several times and now there was no doubt in her mind. "He gradutaed to murder a long time ago." she said, her blue eyes dark. "I thought it, but now knowing how he was, I'm positive he killed my mother..." Seemed they had a lot more in common than just their DNA. "I wasn't allowed to watch the news which is why I never heard about it...And I was looking for that dead fucker because I got tosses out when I figured out I'm a witch."
Xander's stomach lurched a little. Apparently they did have a lot more in common than he'd thought. "Figures." he said. "Honestly I wouldn't put it past him. He was about as dark as they come. What my mother saw in him I'll never know." He thought the woman had lost her mind. Perhaps at one time Rodrick was a good guy, but Xander didn't have one decent memory of the man. Instead his past was littered with bruises and intimidation. He flinched a little at the mere thought of his dad. Their dad. "Guess your mom wasn't a witch?" he asked. "Sucks that you got kicked out... where are you staying now?"
Lilith let out a sigh and ran her hand through her mussed hair. "No...my mother was a happy and sweet Christian woman, or so I was told...she died when I was only a baby." she said, playing with the bandage on her wrist. "And my home is that piece of shit car parked outside at the moment."
His eyes wandered over the bandage on the girl's wrist. He might not have been the sharpest tool in the shed, but Xander wasn't stupid either. He knew what that bandage meant. He felt sorry for this girl, who he now realized hadn't even given him her name yet. He wasn't about to let her sleep in a car, especially with winter around the corner. "Not anymore." he told her. "My house might be shit, but at least you'd be out of the cold. If you want to stay. I won't make you, but it's here if you want it."
She glanced over to him. It was so weird to see her own eyes looking back at her. "Thanks..." she said. She realized then she didn't know his name, nor did he know hers. Way to do this shit backwards. "I'll stay...And I'm Lilith."
"Xander." he replied. "Well, Alexander, but it's a stupid ass name, so just go with Xander." He even managed a little crooked smile, thankful she'd agreed to stay. "I can crash on the couch til I get another mattress." he told her. "My bedroom's through that way and if you're tired, you're welcome to it. We can figure out where you want your bedroom to be later if you want."
As much as Lilith wanted to grill him about well, everything, the spell she had done and taken a lot out of her in both blood and energy. "Yea...I could seriously use some sleep if you don't mind...my brain is on overload." she said with the exact same crooked smile.
"I don't mind." he told her as he stood from the couch and motioned for her to follow him through to his bedroom. "I think I subconsciously knew you were coming because I even cleaned up in here." he admitted. "If you're hungry I can go out and get some food while you take a nap." he suggested. "I'm starving so I know you've got to be."
Lilith followed her brother, her fucking brother, to his room and even a mattress on the floor looked like heaven compared to her car. "I haven't eaten in a few days so food is definitely welcome." she said, kicking off her sneakers and all but falling into the bed. "When I'm more awake we'll....hell, no idea what we're gonna do." she said with a small laugh.
"I'm sure we'll figure something out." he assured her. "You get some rest and I'll get some food and when we reconvene, we'll... take it a step at a time." No doubt they had a billion things to talk about. His entire past was coming back at fall speed and now he had a whole new chapter to add to his life. A spin-off that he hadn't expected.
She gave him a little wave and in second she's was out cold. Lilith was worn out physically and emotionally and seeing as she normally slept like a rock, she started snoring lightly.
Xander let himself out of his room, turning the light off as he went and closing the door behind him. He wasn't the best cook in the universe so he figured he'd spare the girl his culinary masterpieces and instead decided to go out and grab a couple of burgers. He wasn't expecting Paislee that night, figuring she'd be spending quality time with her father, so he decided he'd call her after he and Lilith had finished comparing notes on their father and what they knew about his life. Mostly he was sure it would be him telling her all the things he knew and all the things she needed to be aware of. He locked the door as he left the house and left in his car, heading into town.
