Cathair smiled at her. "I almost asked her if she didn't believe in love at first sight," he admitted. "I know I do, although I'll admit to being a romantic fool. She just needs to adjust to the idea. It'll take time." He chuckled and shook his head. "You don't have to convince me," he assured her. "I see how you look at him. From the eyes of an outsider, it looks like you're pretty well smitten with each other. And I've never seen him so pleased the entire time I've known him."
He nodded. "Exactly," he told her. "Same goes for you and him for me. And she'll realize it. The problem with Becky, as much as I love her, is she always expects the worst until it can't be denied any more. It breaks my heart to see her make herself sick over it, but it's how she's coped with what life has handed her. All you and I can do is show her that it's not as bad as she thinks it is. Because it's not. It's a blessing and I'm not one to turn away blessings because they were expected nor planned for."
