That was probably wisest. He could see her a bit better than he wagered she thought he could, Cathair's nightvision was fairly good. Nothing compared to hers, but since she was across the room and not in front of his face, he could actually see her better. The odd quirks of being far sighted.
"I'm going to turn on the lamp above the stove," he warned her. "So I can see a bit better." Once he'd done that, he sat back down. He chuckled a bit at her reply. He'd figured that. He could be a bit more subjective about the whole matter, considering the fact it wasn't his brother who was suddenly paired up with a stranger for life. And he certainly could relate to Cleo's concerns, considering he'd been in her place, with a bit more warning, not too long ago.
Cath shook his head. "No, colleen, not at all," he said. "Well, a bit of her is jealous. She's not used to sharing him at all. She blames herself for him being cursed in the first place, and that doesn't help. Since that blame is being transferred over to now he's stuck with a stranger for the rest of her life being her fault. She doesn't understand and I'm honestly afraid if she knew all what mating entailed, it'd just make her more frantic and concerned for him than she is now." He let out a deep breath. "She's most worried you're going to realize this isn't what you want and since you're likely not mated to him, that you'll leave. It isn't that she thinks badly of you, their entire life for the last year has been one horrible neverending nightmare. She's used to the worst being what happens."
