Okay, this was...completely unfair. Colin almost wished she'd go back to insulting him and trying to boss him around. That was easier. Then he could be righteously angry. Being nice and apologizing, well fuck, it was working. "Says you," he muttered stubbornly, but he didn't try to move her hands.
And now he felt bad for calling her slut. This was not fucking fair. "I'm sorry I called you a slut," he told her honestly. "I was just lashing out because you had me cornered. I did kind of deserve it. But you wouldn't let it go or let me leave." She still wasn't but she wasn't being so demanding so he could relax a little.
Colin let out a long heavy breath and gently removed her hand. "I get you're trying to help me," he told her. "But I am just not willing to take the chance. I'd rather lock myself in a cage than risk hurting someone else. I know it doesn't make sense to you. But you don't lose control. You don't know what it's like when you do. I just can't- can't take that chance. Okay?"
