Sadhbh sighed. "That's what Dad said when I asked him," she pouted. She'd really hoped Becky would be more open to the idea. "He said I was getting ahead of myself, because you just met." It wasn't fair. Why did grownups have to be so sensible? "All right," she agreed reluctantly, snuggling into Becky.
Then she looked up at her. "Is that why you and Dad pretended you'd not been kissin'?" she asked. "Because I saw you and you both seemed to like it." Really, they were doing EVERYTHING Dad and Mum had before (at least as far as Sadhbh could tell) and were denying it meant anything yet. Which didn't make sense.
