Come to my window who: Alanna and Lucas what: Full Moon Meet Up when: Monday Night where: Alanna's House warnings: Incredible Cuteness
Alanna lay on her bed, her pen scratching away in her journal. It was the full moon and she had been very inspired once it rose. Mostly she was writing poems about Lucas. She couldn't help herself. He was just so inspiring. "The moonlight reflected off golden wings..." she murmured to herself as she wrote.
There was a slight breeze in her room as she had left her window open. Lucas had instructed her to, though he didn't say why. She suspected he might come and see her, but she wasn't betting on it. Surely a were barn owl preferred to fly and hunt than see his human girlfriend.
No, this were barn owl preferred to see his girlfriend. Human or not, he wanted to spend some time with her. So he had spent a bit of the evening flying about and hunting small woodland rodents, but after that, he had flown off in the direction of Alanna's home. He smiled inwardly as he approached her window. Seeing that it was open made him all the more happy. Gracefully slipping in through the entrance, he moved inside the room and landed on her bed, tilting his head at her and giving a soft little hoot.
Alanna looked up when she heard the flap of wings and smiled broadly as the beautiful barn that was her boyfriend landed on her bed and hooted softly. "Hey there..." she said softly, setting aside her journal and reaching out to gently stroke his chest with her fingers. "I was just thinking about you." Alanna actually thought about Lucas all the time, but she like definitely liked it even better when he was there.
Lucas tilted his head the other way and fluffed himself up a little as he pressed in against those fingers. He enjoyed her touch almost as much in owl form as he did when he was his human self. He hooted again in response to her comment about thinking of him. In all honesty his brain was decidedly one tracked as of late and she was that one track.
She smiled, laying on the bed as she pet his feathers. She loved the feel of them against her skin. "It's funny, I just saw you in school, but I was missing you." she said softly. "I was writing some poetry. Do you want to hear it?"
Though he couldn't say yes in his present form, Lucas moved closer to her and turned his head towards the paper as if he were going to read it himself to signal her that, yes, he did want to hear the poem. He liked all of her poetry and hearing more of it would certainly be a welcome experience.
Alanna smiled and picked up the journal to her most recent poem. "The full moon rises..." she began in her soft voice. "She waits at her window looking to the sky. For a glimpse. The moonlight reflected off golden wings. Her personal angel." She bit her lip, looking at him with a blush.
If he could have smiled, Lucas surely would have but instead he just hooted once more and nudged her beneath her chin with the top of his head. It was the closest he could come to telling her he loved it without actually saying the words.
Even though he couldn't speak, Alanna could understand him. She ran her hand gently down his feathered chest and leaned in to kiss the tip of his beak. "I'm glad you like it." she said softly before a small yawn came from her. "Sorry." she said sheepishly.
He hooted and let his head turn ever so slightly in the direction of her pillows as if telling her to get some rest. He liked watching her sleep and as creepy as it was he often did just that sometimes. She was beautiful, he couldn't help it.
"Ok." she said with a smile, giving him another kiss to the beak before she set her journal on her night stand and climbed under the covers. "Are you staying the night or headed home?" she asked, curious.
He hopped along the bed towards her and ruffled his feathers as he settled in as if to say he was staying with her. Being close to her was his favorite place to be and his mother knew he'd be out all evening anyway.
Alanna beamed at him when he settled onto the pillow next to hers. She reached out, stroking his chest feathers. "I'm glad you're staying." she whispered, looking up at him lovingly with her pretty blue eyes.
He hooted softly and nuzzled his head against her hand. He wasn't thinking about waking up naked beside her which was what was going to happen if he stuck around. He merely was thinking about being beside her one more night.
She relaxed, completely at ease with Lucas staying with her. She finally wasn't alone anymore and Lucas was the perfect companion. Even when he was in his owl form, she still felt that amazing connection to him and could understand him completely. Slowly her eyes began to close and she drifted off into a peaceful sleep, a small smile on her lips.
He'd go to sleep he knew, but for now Lucas just was Alanna as she fell asleep. She was like an angel sometimes and this was definitely one of those times. She just had that beautiful look about her that couldn't be described as anything other than angelic. The fact that she was his made him the luckiest teenager on the planet.
