Though he might not have said he was her father, the name was all she needed to know it was true. Her mother had originally given her his last name, though she'd changed it not long after he walked out on them. She'd only recently told her daughter much about the time she was with her father. She still cared for him, of that Izumi was sure. Distance didn't do much to stomp out her mother's love for her father. She'd never remarried and she'd never even dated since him. Not that she was about to bring any of that up at the moment.
When she said she should sit, she did just that, moving to one of the tables and settling herself into it. Her eyes moved to his again and she drew in a little breath. "How long have you been in Toronto?" she asked him. She wasn't sure what else to say but she wanted to know how long she'd been sharing a town with a man she'd subconsciously been wanting to find all along.
