You're fattening me up to eat me.
who: Kavin and Kora
what: Cuteness
when: Friday Evening
where: Their Home
warnings: Cute galore
Kora was in the kitchen, working on dinner. Wonderful smells wafted through the house as she made a dinner of ribs, which had been cooking all day, mashed potatoes, made with real potatoes and butter and milk, corn on the cob, and homemade corn bread. She had had a hankering for some of her mama's cooking and had gone to the store early that morning to get everything she needed. She had even put on a pretty dress she had. Kora wanted Kavin to have a nice dinner after a long week of work and her class work had been light for the first week.
When Kavin finally arrived home, he was thankful that it was the weekend. Two whole days of no work and no class. Two whole days of snuggling up with Kora and enjoying the quiet of their home. When he walked in, his nose immediately took in the smell of deliciousness and he thought he'd dreamed some perfect dinner into life. Closing the door behind him, he made his way through to the kitchen and smiled at the girl as she worked. "Hey you." he murmured. "Smells delicious."
Kora turned when she heard Kavin come into the house. She smiled at him when he walked in. "Hey you." she thought to him before going back to what she was doing. Then she brought over two heaping plates of food to the kitchen table before getting them drinks. "Sit. Eat." she thought as she poured them both organic juice. She was funny that way. She liked everything natural. Came from growing up in farm country. All of her meats she got from a butcher who got it all fresh, any produce she bought she did so from health food store or going out on drives to farmers markets outside of Toronto. She made everything from scratch when she cooked as well. And every meal was done by her, no matter what her schedule. Kora might of been spoiling him a little.
Well he wasn't going to argue with that, not when everything looked so damn delicious. He moved to settle himself at the table, drawing in another breath to intake the smell. "You're really spoiling me." he told her. "And I almost feel like I'm taking advantage. You'll have to let me make you dinner sometime. Can't promise it'll look like this." he grinned. It would probably be something atrocious in comparison, but he had to try. It wasn't fair that she had to make dinner all the time for him. "Thank you though." he went on. "It really does smell amazing."
Kora set down the drinks, her brow furrowed and shook her head as she sat down. "No, not at all. You're letting me live here. It's the least I can do." she insisted before she began eating. The food was delicious, of course, and she herself enjoyed it. It was a way of keeping her tie to home. Food was an important thing when you worked hard. It kept you going. It was her way of thanking him for all that he had done for it. And it was also simply because she liked it.
"Still doesn't mean I shouldn't make you dinner some day." he told her with a smile as he picked up his fork and started to partake of the food she'd prepared. It was as delicious as it smelled. Kavin knew his own food would have certainly never lived up to Kora's. He couldn't help but glance up at her a few times between bites. It was like eating dinner and having the dessert all at the same time. He wondered if she realized how pretty she was sometimes. Well, all the time if he was being honest with himself. Taking a sip of his drink, he looked at her once more and gave her a little smile. "You look really pretty tonight." he told her, because she did and because he thought she might need to hear it.
Kora noticed his looking at her, as she was doing the same thing. She couldn't help herself. He was so handsome and it was like a miracle that she had found him and he had helped her so much. She was so grateful to Kavin. She blushed when he said she looked pretty, smiling shyly. "Thank you." she thought to him. "Um, I also have apple pie for dessert." Knowing how she cooked, obviously she made the whole thing from scratch.
"You're welcome." he murmured. Then she had to go and say she made apple pie, no doubt from scratch, and his mouth practically watered. "I think you're trying to fatten me up." he teased. "Hopefully you're not planning on eating me." he went on with a little chuckle.
"Being a wolf, I would eat your grandmother first." she teased before taking another bite of a rib, making a bit of a mess of herself and grinning a bit, blushing. She wiped her mouth then shrugged. Ribs were meant to be eaten messily.
He chuckled a little at her words. That, he supposed, was true. Not that he thought his grandmother was in any sort of danger from Kora. He watched her as she took a bite of a rib and though she might have made a mess, it was cute. And he wasn't exactly being neat about eating his own ribs. Which he got back to right about that moment. The deliciousness just couldn't wait.
Kora went back to eating, polishing off everything on her plate. The full moon was coming up soon and it made her a bit more animalistic, her appetite being one of the things revved up. She sat back in her seat with a smile. "Did you like it? she asked shyly.
Kavin finished off most of the food on his plate by the time she had and when she asked that question, he was polishing off the last rib he had. He nodded as his mouth was presently full. Once he'd swallowed, he reached for his napkin and wiped his mouth. "Very much." he murmured. "Delicious."
"Good." She set about cleaning up and putting away left overs before bringing over the pie. Kora shyly kissed his cheek as she set it down, biting her lip and giving him a smile. Sometimes Kora felt it was almost like they were married, and she found she really liked that thought.
He smiled at the gentle kiss to his cheek. Of course Kavin smiled just about all the time when he was around Kora. The more he was around her, the more he smiled and he liked that. It was a nice change from his normally bitchy attitude. She was a nice change from being alone all the time. "Thank you." he said to her as she sat the pie before him. "I'm not going to be able to move after this so I hope that you're in the mood for a good cuddle."
"A cuddle sounds perfect." she thought with a smile then served up the pie. It was still warm and she even added a dollop of homemade whipped creme on the pieces. She sat in the chair next to him as opposed to the one across from him, wanting to be close.
A cuddle certainly did sound perfect and he was looking forward to it almost more than he was that delicious looking pie. Still, pie was awesome and the added touch of whipped creme only made it look more appetizing. Lifting his fork, he took a bite and let out a soft little moan of approval. "So good." he managed to murmur between bites.
Kora smiled at him, pleased he liked her pie. She ate hers as well, her mind on cuddling. All he would be able to see in her mind is the two of them curled up together in bed. They slept in the same bed every night and Kora loved it.
It didn't take long for Kavin to scarf down the pie and licking his lips he looked up at Kora. "Perfection." he murmured with a little smile sliding across his mouth. Of course it wasn't just the pie that he was talking about in that moment.
Kora blushed a bit as she stood, gathering up her plates and putting them in the sink. She could do the dishes in the morning. Right now she wanted to cuddle with Kavin. The blonde wolf walked past him with a smile before heading upstairs. Some of her clothes had found their way into his drawers and she put on a little night dress before crawling into the bed.
Kavin followed after her, flicking off the light as he made his way out of the kitchen. Heading up the stairs and to his room, he went about getting his hands washed and teeth brushed before returning to the room and pulling his shirt up and over his head. Tossing it into the hamper, he got rid of his shoes and socks and the khakis he wore and climbed into the bed beside her. "Thanks again for dinner." he murmured as he slipped his arms around her body.
Kora smiled and snuggled into his hold. "You're most welcome." she thought, her legs tangled with his as she smiled up at him. She loved falling asleep in his arms and waking up next to him every morning.
Gently brushing her hair away from her face, Kavin kissed her forehead. He was fast becoming used to the feel of her body against his own. "I don't have work tomorrow." he murmured. "Means we can lie in bed all day if we want."
She smiled and nuzzled him gently, liking the sound of that. And entire day with him snuggling in bed? There couldn't be a more perfect Saturday. "Sounds perfect." she thought, looking up at him lovingly.
Leaning in, he stole a soft kiss from her mouth. "It does." he agreed. He could think of no better way to spend his time than curled up beside the pretty little werewolf.
