"Charlie and I didn't always get along. We're only getting along better now," she explained. "We're really different is all. She's the tom-boy and I'm the girly-girl," she shrugged. "But now we're doing less shouting at one another. I think her boyfriend has a lot to do with that. She's too busy worrying about what he thinks to be mad at me. Which is a nice change. I hope she keeps him," she laughed, shaking her head a little. "Xander, Mateo's friend. She's dating him." Likely Darcy knew Xander at least via Mateo.
Chloe had to laugh a little about exchanging phone numbers. "Yeah," she said, pulling her cellphone out of her bag. "What's your number?" she asked. Once she'd gotten it, she sent a quick text to the girl. "There, now you have mine," she told her. "And I keep my mouth shut about things," she added. "The only reason I told you anything about what Mateo said was because I want you two to get back to not fighting," she smiled. "Anything else is safely locked away. I leave the gossip mongering to Tonya. She feeds off of it."
