"I doubt it'll even take something that major. Just wait until someone breaks up, fails something, makes a fool out of themselves, trips on the football field, eats the wrong thing at lunch, blah blah blah," she said, making a talking mouth motion with her hand as she did so.
Okay, she really hadn't been expecting to like Chloe, but this was all turning out really well. So far she had to admit that Teo had finally chosen correctly. "If he thinks we're ganging up on him, this is going to be one of the best things to ever happen." Plus it might not be a terrible idea for her to have a social circle that extended beyond Teo and Tony.
Well, at least Teo hadn't gone totally crazy on the explanation. "Twenty-five," she corrected automatically. "Not that it matters one way or the other. Also I completely used that pot and kettle line on him last night. Of course we were both screaming, and his eyes were all gold at that point so logic had sort of stopped."
"They've never really gotten along." Darcy rolled her shoulders. "Tony is older, and he did babysit us. Teo has a lot of misconceptions about the whole thing because he thinks that Tony is using me and that he's only showing interest in me now because I'm eighteen and, well, basically a lot of shit that's not true. I know he's being protective, and I've honestly made a lot of bad decisions when it comes to guys so his concern isn't unfounded on that level. But this is completely different because it's Tony." She rubbed her forehead. "Honestly I don't know how to explain it in a way that doesn't completely destroy my reputation, but it's Tony. I have loved him, do love him, will love him. He feels the same way. Teo's just gonna have to suck it up and deal like a big boy." God, had she actually just admitted that all out loud to someone she barely knew? The added estrogen levels were apparently already making her crazy.
