She sighed and shook her head. "It isn't that easy. You know how you have this whole mind-reader thing? Well, there is a difference like that here. Except in this case, less mind reading and probably more bloodshed." She started tearing at the napkin again. "And on top of that, I don't want .. I can't have my brother thinking of me differently."
She fell silent, and just listened to him now. Not knowing if she'd actually take his advice or not. A large part of her doubted it, mainly because in a way, she wasn't ready to let go. Scared to death yes, but ready? No. When she was handed the card, she looked at it instead of the napkin mess, before looking up at him with a little bit of surprise. She hadn't been expecting that, not at all.
She felt all raw and exposed, and this was adding to it, the fact that she'd been the most honest she had been in years and the guy still was being nice to her. Though she didn't know if it was genuine or just trying to make her feel a little better. "Thanks, though you really didn't have to."
