And you've already got me coming undone
Who: Kavin and Kora
What: Unpacking
When: Evening
Where: The house they now share
Warnings: None
Kavin had spent the day slaving about his father’s office. He swore that if another person walked by him bitching silently about how bad Monday’s sucked that he was going to pull a Hulk and he doubted anyone would like him when he was angry. Thankfully five o’clock finally rolled around and he could escape the law firm and get home to Kora. Knowing there was someone waiting for him at home was definitely a new thing for him, but he sort of liked it. Kora was always so damn sweet and her head was such a nice place to be. It was a far cry from the bullshit brains he was thrust into day in and day out.
Opening the door and entering the entry way, he hung his keys by the door and slipped his shoes off. “Kora?” he called, shutting the door behind him and heading towards the stairs in the direction of the once guest room that now was Kora’s bedroom.
Kora had spent the day attempting to unpack her belongings. It was hard for her, as she felt her things didn’t belong in this beautiful home. Kavin’s house was much fancier than anything she had ever seen before. The farm girl was beginning to think she was in over her head, but Kavin had been so insistant after seeing the shady place she had been staying since the university had made a mistake and left her with no dorm room.
The young werewolf heard Kavin pulling up and she couldn’t help but smile. She had only know for a couple of months, but Kora found she really liked him. Being mute, since moving to Toronto she hadn’t had any friends. It was hard for her to communicate with people, but not Kavin. He was telepath and could hear her thoughts. It was nice not to have to struggle to speak with him. ”I’m in my room.” she thought, knowing he would hear her.
He smiled to himself as he headed up the stairs and down the hall to her room. “Hey, pretty lady.” he murmured, leaning against the frame of the door. “Sorry I’m a little late. Things at the office were a little hectic. Monday Blues I guess.” Mondays tended to be far longer than he liked. The day just seemed to drag on and on and on. “How was your day?” he asked her.
Kora turned as he came to the door, her features lighting up. Kavin was easily the most handsome male she had ever seen and he had so many good qualities. He was kind to her and often times protective when people who didn’t understand she was mute, not deaf, would make fun of her. ”It was alright. I called the university like you said to cancel the hold for a dorm room.” She had intended on just staying with him until she could get into her dorm, but he wouldn’t hear of it and Kora was one to aim to please, especially such a good friend like Kavin. ”I’m sorry work was difficult.”
Kavin wasn’t about to let Kora stay in that seedy hotel and he didn’t see a point in having her move in with him only to move right into the dorms when she could just stay with him. He felt like it was easier to protect her when she was close by and he wanted to help her in some way. She was always so sweet to him and she had to be the nicest, most sincere person he’d ever met. He couldn’t bare to think of letting that go. He wanted her around always. Getting a break from the minds of normal assholes was something that he didn’t get often and still get some form of companionship. With Kora, he got companionship and no stupid thoughts. It was perfect.
“Good.” he said. “I’m glad. It’s nice knowing there’s someone around here to come home to.” he smiled. “Besides, why be cramped up in a dorm room with a horrible mattress when you have twice the room here?”
She set down the books she had been attempting to organize and walked over to him, giving him a hug. Kora couldn’t help but press her face to his neck and inhale his scent a bit. Her wolf loved the scent of her friend and she did too. ”Thank you, you are most kind.” she thought, a few stay thoughts of things she could do for him, like make dinner or take over house chores flitting through her mind.
Kavin didn’t want her to feel like she needed to do anything for him, but for now, he kept his mouth shut about that and let his arms slip around the girl in return, giving her a gentle hug. She wasn’t the only one that drew in a breath, needing to memorize that scent. Kavin thought she smelled beautiful, if it were possible to smell beautiful. “You’re welcome.” he told her with a smile. “Need some help putting things away?” he asked her.
Kora was so grateful she had found such a wonderful friend. She had written her parents, telling them about Kavin and they seemed happy about it, even inviting him for Christmas if she came home for the holiday. She hadn’t asked yet, but she liked the idea of spending her favorite holiday with him.
She pulled away from the hug and looked at her room thoughtfully. She had gotten her clothes away easily as she hadn’t had much. Her books were almost finished, her cds were all put away. Now it was mostly her knickknacks and the odd thing here and there. ”I don’t have much left.” Considering how there wasn’t much there, obviously she had very little personal belongings with her.
Kavin couldn’t help but think that she needed more things. Her room was a little more homey than it had been when it had been nothing but a guest room. Still, however, it wasn’t quite as full as he’d hoped. Moving her things hadn’t been a difficult task. In fact it had taken only a single trip between that seedy little hotel and his own home. “Well I can help you anyway.” he told her as he moved to pick up one of her books. “I suppose that I should be glad you only had a few things to move in, but is it wrong of me that I wish I could get you a few more things?”
Kora decided to put out her pictures as he worked on her book. Pictures were something she had a lot of, her mother having taken many of the family candids from the ranch on frames for Kora when she moved. Her dresser was quickly becoming full of pictures of her, her family, and the horses on the ranch.
She glanced at Kavin and her brow furrowed a bit when he noted how little she had. ”You don’t have to get me anything, Kavin. You let me stay with you. That’s more than enough.” she thought to him. Kora was a simple kind of girl and certainly wasn’t used to being any kind of spoiled. She felt out of place in his fancy house and her room alone was more than she could of ever dreamed of.
“I know I don’t have to get you anything, but maybe I just like doing nice things for you.” he told her. “You have no idea how much just having you around means to me. I finally don’t have to worry about hearing what people are thinking because your mind is just so... nice to be in.” he shrugged. It wasn’t the best explanation but he couldn’t think of any other way to explain it all.
The blonde werewolf’s cheeks went bright red as she turned to fiddle with the position of her pictures. He had complimented her in a way only a telepath could and it meant a lot to her, to hear him say such things. ”I’m glad I can be something positive for you.” she thought, though she kept her eyes on her work.
Kavin glanced over at her after putting a few more of her books away. “We could hang some of those on the wall.” he told her. “Or you could put them pretty much anywhere you like. I don’t have quite so many pictures so don’t feel like you have to stay in here. This is just as much your house. I want you to think of it that way.”
Kora turned once she had her blush under control and smiled softly. ”Thank you, but I don’t want to overrun things...” She was still adjusting to living with someone she wasn’t related too (though she was adopted so that was kind of a technicality), and she felt if her things wound up all over, it would be like they were more than roommate and friends. Having her pictures around the house to her signified something a bit deeper than that.
He shook his head at her. “You’re not going to overrun things. But if you’d feel more comfortable with them in here, we can just hang some of them up on the wall so you don’t have your entire flat surface areas taken up.” he smiled. Kavin was just happy to have her around and had she asked for the moon, he would have found some way to bring it closer for her. Picking up another book and putting it on the shelf, he thought about what they’d be having for dinner. “Are you hungry?” he asked her.
Kora needed time to adjust to the massive changes in her life and moving in with Kavin was a big one. She was happy though. She liked being close to him. ”Sure, we can hang some of them up.” she agreed, ever amenable. Dinner was another thought and she tapped her chin, different ideas running through her head, but she hadn’t looked in the kitchen so she really didn’t know what there was.
“We could order pizza or Chinese food.” he suggested. He didn’t want to beg her to cook something when she’d been working on getting things situated in her room all day. She needed a break after all that hard work and something quick and easy was definitely better than slaving over a hot stove.
”Ordering out sounds perfect.” she thought to him with a smile as she put the last picture on her dresser until they decided where to hang them. That finished she joined him on the edge of her bed by the bookshelf which was full of horticulture books and quite a few romance novels, her guilty pleasure.
“Awesome.” he murmured. “I was thinking pizza. I haven’t had any in a while and everyone likes pizza, right?” he asked her. “Any special way you like yours?” he questioned as he put a couple more books on the shelf before settling beside her. “You deserve a little break. I can tell you’ve been busily getting settled in.” Which was nice. At least she felt at home enough to put her things away. He wanted her to feel as if this was home because, well, now it was.
”Pizza’s good. I like it with bacon and pepperoni.” Back home, Kora made it a point not to eat meat in front of her parents as they were vegetarians, but now that she was on her own, she ate meat on a daily basis, much to her wolf’s delight.
She leaned her head on his shoulder as he settled beside her, her eyes closing as she smiled. It was so nice to be with him in his home. Their home. ”It’s a lovely home and I’m very happy to be here.” It was of course, the truth, as Kora didn’t have a deceitful bone in her body. No where in her mind was there any kind of lie.
“Perfect.” he said, tipping his head against hers once she’d rested it against his shoulder. “I’m happy you’re here.” he told her. He’d much rather have her be there than in that hotel she’d been in. He felt more like she was safe here with him than she’d been there. “It’s nice to have someone around. Especially you. I like you.”
Kora blushed once more and couldn’t help but to nuzzle him gently, once against inhaling his scent. ”I like you too” she thought, though her thoughts portrayed a bit more than like. Of course, her mind was always an open book to him.
He smiled a little at that. It was nice to know that she felt more for him, though how much more he couldn’t quite grasp just yet. “At least this bed is more comfortable than anything you might have been sleeping on in that hotel.” he chuckled. “Probably more sanitary too.”
She smiled, a bit of laughter ringing in her head. ”I cleaned that room from top to bottom before staying in it, thank you very much.” she thought with amusement. Ok, so the motel hadn’t been the nicest place in the world, but it had been what she could afford at the time. This house though, with her lovely room and even lovelier companion was much more preferred.
“Hopefully with bleach.” he teased, winking at the girl as he reached into his pocket to pull out his phone to make the call to the local pizza place. Once that part was out of the way, he turned the phone off again and tucked it back into his pocket. “I made you a key.” he told her. “Got it downstairs on my key-chain for you.”
Her own key. If that didn’t make a move in official, she didn’t know what did. ”Thank you.” she thought as she reached over and gently squeezed his hand. She was so appreciative of everything he was doing for her. She was lucky and she knew it.
“You’re welcome.” he smiled. “Figured you should be able to go and come as you please.” he said. There was no point in not giving her a key. Like he’d told her, it was just as much her house as it was his own.
”You’ve been so good to me. I wish I could give you as much as you’ve given me.” Kora was a very giving person and wasn’t used to such generosity from someone so new in her life. Kavin was so amazing and she was so happy to be in his life.
Kavin shook his head a little and lifted his hand to gently brush over her cheek. “You give me a lot more than you probably even realize.” he assured her. “Don’t you worry your pretty little head about repaying me, Kor.” he murmured. “You’ve already given me enough.”
She looked up at him, her amber eyes soft as she leaned into his touch on her cheek. ”Well, if there’s anything else, you just let me know.” Kora smiled softly, her wolf content with the closeness of the pair.
He nodded a little and let his thumb gently brush over her cheek. “I will.” he promised her. “But for now your company is payment enough.” he assured her, smiling at the girl. “Maybe we can watch a movie with dinner.” he suggested as he reluctantly pulled his hand away from her face. He didn’t want her to feel as though he were overstepping his boundaries or any such thing.
They seemed to be very careful around each other, dancing around the fact each one was harboring at least a crush on the other. Little touches of affection shone through, but nothing more than that. ”A movie would be great!:” she thought, excitement in her mind. Kora had grown up without a TV and had only been to the movies once. She had seen some things at her friends house, but having a TV where she lived was something new for her.
Kavin smiled at her. “Great. I have a cabinet downstairs in the living room with DVD’s in it.” he told her. “You can pick anything you want. I’ll get a couple of plates and some drinks and meet you there. What would you like to drink?”
She smiled at him before standing. ”Juice, please.” she thought before going to the little vanity and grabbing her brush, pulling her pale blonde hair from its’ messy bun and quickly brushing it out. Once that was done, she headed into the living room and went through his DVDs. He had a lot and she hadn’t seen a vast majority of them. Kora finally decided on Dirty Dancing. He seemed to like Patrick Swayze and she had never seen it before.
Kavin did as he told her he would, grabbing a couple glasses, hers with juice and his with iced tea, and a couple plates. He went ahead and got some napkins as well and made his way to the living room. Setting the plates and glasses on the coffee table, he settled beside her on the sofa. “So, what’d you pick?” he asked her.
Kora smiled to him and held up the DVD. She knew better than to even attempt to fiddle with his entertainment center. She hadn’t a clue how to work most of the gadgets in there so she was better off just letting him do it. After handing him the DVD she sat on the couch, stretching some, her shirt lifting a bit to expose the flat, smooth expanse of her stomach.
Kavin smiled at her choice. He’d always been a Swayze fan, even if the guy did a lot of chick flicks. For Kora he’d have sat through The Notebook without so much as a questioning look. Getting up he moved to pop the movie into the DVD player. Returning to the sofa with the remote, he settled beside her again, his eyes unable not to roam over that soft skin that was exposed to him. She had this beauty about her that he couldn’t really explain. Even without make-up she just looked otherwordly. Something about her drew him in and it was hard to even put a finger on it.
The young werewolf settled, curling her legs under her as he sat beside her. ”I’ve never seen this before.” she thought to him, looking forward to the movie. She liked nights like this with him. Even before she moved in, often she would find herself on his couch, eating something yummy and watching a good movie.
He was surprised that she’d never seen the movie before but at the same time he wasn’t. She was a bit sheltered after all. “Well good.” he told her. “You’re in for a good movie.” he smiled. “One of my favorites, even if it is romantic.” he laughed.
She grinned and without hesitation snuggled up against him. She was affectionate in her nature and Kavin made it easy. ”I’m a bit of a sap for such movies.” Kora was certainly a romantic. What’s more as a werewolf, she knew she would one day mate for life. If that wasn’t romantic, she didn’t know what was.
He smiled at that. He wanted to slip his arm around her and he seriously considered it before the doorbell rang and kept him from being able to do much of anything. “Lemme get that.” he said as he reluctantly stood up. “I’m sure that’s dinner.”
Kora watched him go to the front door, a look of longing on her face. She couldn’t help wanting to be close to him. It was almost instinctual, the need for his presence. Kora found when he wasn’t around, she thought of him, and when he was, she wanted to be as close to him as possible. It was confusing at times, all these new feelings, but also exciting. She smiled as he came back to the living room after paying, the smell of pizza making her tummy rumble a bit.
Setting the pizza box on the counter top, he opened the lid and dished out a couple of slices for the both of them. “I don’t know about you, but I’m starved.” he told her as he settled back down and handed her plate to her. Reaching for the remote, he started the movie and put the remote back on the table.
She nodded as he handed her her plate, licking her lips a bit. Kora was hungry and a werewolf appetite was something that needed to be satiated often. She settled in, eating her slices swiftly as her eyes went to the TV screen, though they often wandered to the telepath beside her. He was so fascinating to her in every way.
Kavin noticed her glancing at him every once in a while, but he tried not to read too far into it. Regardless of his little crush on her, he didn’t want to make her feel weird. He couldn’t say for sure that she liked him the way he liked her and though he hoped she did, he wanted to wait until he felt more comfortable that his feelings would be reciprocated. He finished off his slices not long into the movie and once he’d wiped his hands off with a napkin, he settled in and did his best to pay attention the screen in front of them.
Once Kora finished her meal, she wiped her own hands and once more glanced at him. He too was finished eating so she moved to gently snuggle against him once more. She was starting to get more comfortable with him, but her own crush was not something she would act on first. Shy and unsure of herself. she was more content to let her wolf side nudge things and cuddling was something wolves did well.
When she snuggled in against him, he sat for a moment before lifting his arm and slipping it around her shoulders. He hoped she wouldn’’t think him too forward and he couldn’t help but feel slightly nervous.
Kavin’s arm around her shoulder’s made Kora smile. She molded against him, focusing on the movie as she relaxed in his hold. It just felt so right to be with him like this, their scents mingling as they were pressed close to one another.
When she didn’t pull away, but instead moved in closer to him, he smiled a little to himself. At least that was a good sign. She wasn’t appalled by him. That still, however, didn’t mean that she liked him the way that he liked her.
Kora wasn’t thinking so hard about it at the moment. She was just enjoying the closeness. Her wolf was content with food and mate....”Wait, mate?” It wasn’t a thought he was meant to hear, more of a surprise that jumped into her head. She didn’t pull away from him, but her mind was churning with why that had come to her mind.
Kavin blinked a little at the first two words that jumped into his mind. The blur of thoughts that rushed in afterwards however was so mixed up he could hardly understand it all. For a moment he was quiet, but after a while of silence he couldn’t help but wonder what she was thinking about and why she was thinking it. “Mate?” he questioned.
She jumped a bit when he spoke, asking her what mate meant. Her eyes went a bit wide and a blush bloomed on her cheeks. Her thoughts became more erratic until she forced herself to focus. ”Sorry, just errant thoughts.’ It wasn’t a lie as she was still trying to figure out what it meant as much as he did.
Kora of course knew about the mating process. Her parents were swans so they mated for life, just as wolves did. She had never thought of anyone being her mate before, but when she had asked her mother when she was younger, the swan had merely said “You’ll know.” Kora wondered if this was what she meant.
He raised a brow at her explanation. He wasn’t foolish enough to believe that it was the truth and though she usually didn’t lie, he felt that there was more to those words than she wanted to admit. “You sure?” he asked her.
Kora bit her bottom lip, trying to figure out how to explain her own whirling thoughts when she herself couldn’t collect them. Unable to form her thoughts into words she instead opened her mind to him, showing him bits and pieces of what she thought she might understand but also her confusion and nervousness.
Kavin tried to follow those little bits and pieces of thoughts that rolled through the girl’s mind but it was difficult. There were flashes of her being a wolf which was strange, a conversation with a woman who he thought he recognized from pictures in Kora’s room. The only thing he could really gather was that this ‘mate’ thing had something to do with her wolf counterpart. “Your wolf wants to mate...?” he asked her. “With... me?” Which sounded a little more like bestiality than he wanted it to, but still.
Kora’s face was beet red by this point and she was completely embarrassed. She had barely started to understand her own feelings for Kavin as she had never liked anyone before, and this was just too much for her. ”I don’t know.” she thought honestly. She was really confused about it and didn’t want to frighten him.
He hadn’t meant to embarrass her. If anything he just wanted to clear up his own confusion. The redness that brushed over her cheeks said that he’d embarrassed her and he lifted the hand not around her shoulders to gently brush over her cheek. “What exactly does mating mean anyway?” he asked her. “I mean I know what mating means... sort of... but... doesn’t that involve... well... you know...?” he asked her, his own cheeks turning red at his words.
Kora gulped a bit. She knew exactly how one mated but the thought of telling him sent her into fits. Of course, he had asked and Kora would answer him, though her face and ears would be redder as she did. ”Um well, in order to do the ah....physical mating we’d have to...you know and then I’d bite you” She couldn’t believe she was explaining this to Kavin right now.
He was still confused and the more she spoke the more confused he got. “Okay... and then what would that mean?” he questioned. “What would it mean if all that happened?” He thought just the sex was an act of ‘mating’ but he supposed that his science books hadn’t covered all things supernatural.
At this point Kora covered her face and hung her head. This was like having the birds and the bees talk. ”If that ever happened, I’d be mated to you for life.” Even her thought was soft like a whisper as she thought it. Her heart was pounding and she waited for him to laugh at her or something.
“For life?” he asked, slightly confused but getting more enlightened as the seconds passed. “So you’d be mine forever?” he questioned, assuming that’s what she meant. Then of course that put him back to the beginning of this whole conversation. “So you want to mate with me? Or part of you does? Does that mean you like me... like that?”
Yep, Kora could go die now. Yes, she liked Kavin, a lot, but she had been much to nervous to really say anything. She didn’t know if he liked her and if he didn’t it would be even worse. But she was honest and nodded yes to each question.
Kavin couldn’t help but smile at her, the dimple on his cheek more prominent than usual as he lifted his hand to gently pull her fingers away from her face. “I like you too.” he told her once he could see those pretty eyes of hers. “I’m not a werewolf, so I can’t say I want to mate with you just yet... but I do like you.”
To hear that he liked her made her heart leap and be filled with hope. Even as a werewolf, she wasn’t ready to be mating. Her wolf would just have to wait until the human was on the same page. She gave a tiny smile. ”Liking is good.”
Gently he stroked her hair and tucked a loose strand behind her ear. “I’ve liked you for a while now.” he admitted. “Guess I just wanted to make sure you liked me back before I confessed...”
Kora couldn’t help but be thrilled beyond belief and she smiled brightly. ”Well, I like you back.” she thought, her amber eyes dancing with glee.
He smiled again, glad that all of the liking each other feelings were out of the way. “Do you like me enough to let me kiss you?” he asked her, eyes wandering down to her lips and back to her eyes again. “You can say no.” he added because he knew just how eager to please she was. If he kissed her, he wanted it to be because she wanted it as much as he did.
Kora knew she could say no, but she certainly didn’t want to. She had thought about kissing him before and was dying to know if it was like what she imagined. She nodded, not trusting herself to form coherent thought as her eyes wandered down to his lips, her heart racing in her chest.
Letting his hand gently brush over her cheek again, he smiled at her and leaned in a little. His lips were so close to hers he could practically taste her. He’d wanted to kiss her so badly that he’d envisioned it many times, but now that he was this close, he couldn’t help but be nervous. He hoped that she’d like the way that he kissed her. Closing the distance between their mouths, he allowed his eyes to slip closed as well and tuned his mind into her thoughts, praying she’d think something about that kiss.
The moment his lips touched her, Kora was in Heaven. The anticipation alone was enough to send her whirling, but once they finally touched mouths, the only thoughts she had were ones that were thrilled. She loved the taste of him, the scent of him, the feel of him...Everything was so wonderful and perfect simply because his lips were on hers.
The kiss was a soft one, not too much, not too fast. When he pulled away, it was reluctantly that he did so. Still, a smile was on his lips as he looked over her face. “I’m glad you have random thoughts.” he told her. “If you hadn’t thought of mating, I might have never gotten to do that.”
However soft or slow the kiss may have been, it was perfect. It was Kora’s first kiss and she wouldn’t of wanted it with anyone else. However awkward the journey had been to get them here, she was thrilled they had went down that path. She beamed at him, shyly taking his hand in hers and squeezing it. ”I’m glad I have random thoughts too.”
He smiled a bit more broadly and gave her hand a squeeze in return. “I was worried that you wouldn’t like me that way... especially now that you live here... I mean I didn’t want things to be weird or anything and I don’t want you to think that I only asked you to move in because I liked you...” he went on, stumbling over the words hew anted to say. “I really didn’t ask you to move here only because I liked you. I wanted to get you out of that place.” he sighed.
Kora reached over, gently pressing a finger to his lips. She knew he didn’t want her staying at the motel because it wasn’t safe. He had done so much for her, he certainly didn’t have to justify anything. Kora was happy she was living with him and very happy he liked her. So he woudn’t worry she thought his asking her to move in was part of some nefarious part, she instead removed her finger from his lips and replaced it with her own, kissing him gently again.
The kiss certainly made him feel less worried about what she thought of his invitation. It had been to keep her safe and sure, he liked her, but his intentions were more than that. He kissed her back just as gently, his hand coming up to cup her cheek. When he finally pulled back, he tipped his forehead against hers. “I’m just glad that I’ll know you’re safe.” he told her. “I worry about you when you’re not around.” he admitted. Mostly because people could be real assholes.
Kavin was so sweet to her. He was a kind person, even if he didn’t think he was sometimes. She knew it had to be hard for him to hear every thought of those around him. She couldn’t imagine. But even then, hearing the deepest thoughts of humanity, he still had the heart to rescue a girl from a seedy hotel. “I’m ok now. No one’s going to hurt me while I’m here.”
He nodded. He knew no one would hurt her while she lived with him. He wouldn’t allow it. He might have been a lanky thing, but he had enough muscle to protect the girl and he’d be damned if he let anyone hurt her. “I’m glad. Besides, I think I’m a way better roommate than any you’d have at that dorm.”
Kora smiled, laughter ringing in her head as she laid her head against his shoulder. She had certainly lucked out. He knew she was a werewolf, could communicate with her easily, and he was the nicest boy she had ever met. He beat out any roommate in a college dorm. ”I’m happy to be here.”
“I’m glad.” he told her as he settled back against the cushions of the couch. He let the arm around her pull her tighter against his body and he pressed a soft kiss to her forehead. “It’s kinda nice to have someone around that can’t get enough of me.” he teased.
She relaxed against him completely, contentment filling her entire being. There weren’t ready to mate, but her wolf seemed satisfied at the directions things were going and relaxed as well. She smiled, amused by his teasing and tickled his side. ”And you smell pretty too. That helps, you know.’ she teased right back.
“I smell pretty?” he asked her, chuckling a little. “I’ve never been told that I smell pretty. But I’ll take that as a compliment.” he smiled. “And for the record, you smell pretty too.”
”It is a compliment from a werewolf.” she thought, nuzzling him gently. It was wonderful to be this close to someone and Kavin was, in her mind, perfect. He had a bright future ahead of him and she prayed she would be part of that future.
He smiled at that. “Guess that’s the best compliment of them all.” he murmured. He wasn’t sure he liked the word ‘pretty’ pertaining to him, but when it came from Kora, he didn’t mind it so much. “Keep snuggling me like that and you’ll have to keep me company in my bed tonight.” he teased.
Her cheeks went red and she ducked her head. Her mind was a jumble for a minute before it settled. ”Should I sleep on your feet at the foot of the bed?” she thought teasingly, though she didn’t mind the idea of sleeping curled up with him.
“You shouldn’t tease me.” he told her. “Because I just might take you up on that offer. Though I doubt the foot of the bed. You’re too snuggly for me to leave you at the foot of the bed.” he smiled. None of his words had any ulterior motives to them, but he was definitely considering holding onto her for as long as he could.
He could hold onto her forever and Kora would be content. She smiled softly, yawning a bit. For a farm girl, she was used to going to bed early and getting up before the sun even rose. ”The more you talk about it, the more I’m liking the idea.”
“Well you’re more than welcome to join me.” he told her, finding that yawn contagious and having to yawn himself. “No hanky panky, promise.” he smiled. “Course I can’t promise I won’t kiss you again.”
Kora smiled, leaning up to kiss his cheek. ”You’re more than wlecome to kiss me.” That was certainly true as since his lips touched hers it was all she could think about. ”Bed does sound wonderful right about now.” That thought was punctuated with another yawn.
“Alright, well how bout you go get ready for bed and I’ll get things cleaned up down here and meet you upstairs?” he suggested. “I’ll be taking some leftover pizza for lunch so no need to stay up much longer making anything.” he smiled as he got up from the sofa to collect the evening’s leftovers.
Kora nodded and went off to her bedroom. She didn’t exactly have sexy nightwear or anything, so she put on a pair of pj shorts and tank top that both sported Thumper from Bambi on them. Not exactly seductive sleepwear, but that wasn’t really her intention. After brushing out her hair she listened and heard Kavin already in his room. She made her way there, peeking in shyly.
Kavin went about putting away the left overs and washing the few plates and dishes. One that was done, he went upstairs and changed into his own night clothes. When Kora peeked into his bedroom, he was pulling his pajama pants on and into place. It was still warm enough out to be shirtless, so he was. He smiled when he saw her in the doorway. “Hey you.” he murmured.
The werewolf gave a little way and walked into the room, blushing as her eyes went over the expanse of his chest. She pulled her eyes away and up to his face, giving a shy smile as she padded to the bed.
He couldn’t help but flush a little when her eyes moved over his body. Moving to the bed, he settled in on his side and tucked his legs beneath the blankets. Rolling onto his side, he gave her a little smile. “You sure this is okay?”
Kora nodded yes to his question then climbed into the large bed. She had never seen a bed so big until coming to stay with Kavin. She slid under the blankets, laying down on the insane softness, her entire body relaxing as she smiled at him.
Kavin immediately moved to snuggle closer to Kora, reaching over her long enough to turn off the light. “It’s nice not to have to be in this big bed by myself.” he admitted as he allowed himself to settle back against his pillows again. “And it’s nice to have something warm to curl up against.”
Kora happily snuggled against him once he was settled, breathing in his amazing scent. The entire bed smelled like him and for her it was wonderful. ”It is nice.” she agreed as she yawned against, closing her eyes as her arm rested over his middle.
He could tell she was tired and so he didn’t bother uttering another word. Instead Kavin allowed himself to slip an arm around Kora’s body and closed his eyes. How they’d gone from friends to sleeping in the same bed was beyond him, but it felt right. He wasn’t about to mess with anything that felt right. Besides, she was too warm and cuddly to dare question it too much. For now he’d just let this be whatever it was and soak it in as if there were no tomorro
