He was, of course, still frozen, and she was really unsure about how to remedy that particular situation. She guessed she could try to tap him? Maybe he would be like the guitar, rescued from the suspended time. But even if she did that, how would she get everything else started again? This was certainly a conundrum.
She tried everything she could think of. She waved her arms around, as if to usher time into starting again. She jumped up and down a few times, thinking maybe it needed a shock of some kind. She concentrated, trying to mentally will time to begin again. How could that possibly not have worked?
She was so frustrated she could cry, at this point. Not to mention her anxiety hadn't waned in the least. She was just panicked for a completely different reason, now.
Walking back towards Jamie, she sighed sadly, taking in his still form once again. It was almost sad, the clear anticipation on his face, waiting for his lips to meet hers. He was just such a good guy. No, more than that, he was an amazing guy. He'd rebelled against the McKinley hierarchy for her before he even really knew her, and then he'd given her this magnificent gift, the likes of which she'd never received before, only after knowing her for a few weeks.
He deserved to know what she felt for him. She liked Matt, but Jamie... She couldn't help this! She just wanted to- She wanted-
Ugh! She was just so frustrated. Even knowing it would solve nothing, she found herself charging back towards Jamie and stepping close to him once more, wrapping her own arms around his waist. And then, just as she'd wanted for much too long, she closed her eyes, and she kissed him.
Instantly, she felt herself calm considerably, even without his returning the gesture. She felt a sudden rush of air around her, chilling her, and making her pull herself closer to him.
And then, like a miracle, he was kissing her back.
