Re: The Fire!
Finn's mind was entranced by his cup of punch as it swirled back and forth. He didn't have the heart to drink it, specially since he knew that someone already spiked it and he just wasn't the type to get willingly wasted. He liked knowing what he was doing, where he was at in the middle of things, he had a hard time as is when he was in a perfect state of mind.
But as the liquid danced in his cup, he started to feel hot, sweating like balls. He looked around for Quinn, no sign of her, and took of his jacket, throwing it onto the seat next to him before taking an arm to his forehead. Drenched with sweat. He looked back down into the cup, took a swig, but as he moved it from his lips reflected in the punch were flames.
Jolting up he looked around. While he was ready to avoid Quinn, now all he could do was search for her. No where to be found. His heart was racing as he watched the crowd chaotically move through the gymansium. Finn got up and moved towards the door.
But before he could make it out of the auditorium he caught notice of Artie's chair. Where the hell is he? He tried to grab a hold of it, but the metal burned his palms. His hands recoiled in pain, sticking them into the punch. He pulled them out, shook the punch from them before he covered his mouth with the corner of his jacket. His eyes darted around for any familiar face, searching the floors for Artie. Through the movement, to his surprise he caught of glimpse of Artie crawling. He could've been more shocked but didn't really have time to dwell before he pulled Artie up the best he could.
"I've got ya man." Using every ounce of his strength he carried most of Artie's weight while maneuvering through the fire. Everyone was locked in, moving too slowly. He watched as the building began to crumble around them and it started to hit him - Shit, they might die.
As a beam fell right before their feet Finn jumped, out of the way. He waited for gravity to pull him back down but instead he was levitating. Finn possibly would've paid more attention to the physics impossibility, but with such an adrenaline rush coursing through him, all he cared about was pushing past the other students to get the hell out. Now even higher than most of them than usual he was able to move above them, leaping at the last moment through a window above the doors. They crashed through the glass, tumbling several times as they hit the front lawn. Finn gripped Artie to his chest so tightly to save him from the impact, like his friend was the football he caught just a few days ago.
When their tumble halted, Finn outstretched every limb, resting back for a few moments as he heaved, attempting to catch his breath. His mind continued repeating 'What the hell?' over and over like some kind of psycho mantra.
He finally released Artie and pushed his body upwards to check his friend's face.
