Re: The Fire!
Mike and Tina were cut off from the exterior exits by the fire. They had been in a corner, canoodling, distracting each other from what was going on around them, when shrieks alerted them to the fact that something was wrong.
Mike led Tina to the nearest door - one of the doors that led deeper into the school, rather then outside. When he pushed it, he found it was locked. It made sense for it to be locked, of course, since the administration didn't want students wandering the halls after hours and unsurprised. Well, that was all very nice and sensible, but Mike was trying to run for his life, so he was kind of mad about it. "Locked," he sneered, "fuck," He pushed at the door again, more out of anger then hoping for a result. But as he pressed, he felt vibration well up inside him and flow outward along his arm with the push. This time the door came right open; the sounds of the fire kept Mike from hearing the metal of the locking mechanism shear away.
He turned back to Tina. "I guess it was just stuck," he said as he lead her outside and closed the door behind him - no one had been anywhere near him, so no one else would need the door to escape, it would make a decent firebreak once closed - and hurried to the nearest door to the outside.
