Thread: Shelby's First Drama Class Who: Rachel, Abigail, Castor, Shelby(NPC) When: 9/15, 7th Period(just before lunch) Where: Drama Class What: Shelby introduces herself to her new Drama students, much to Rachel's angry dismay.
Shelby Corcoran stood in front of the spacious drama classroom, watching her students for a few minutes before attempting to gain their attention. There were quite a few of them; the Drama I and II classes were usually split, as they were at different levels and received different assignments, and II could usually work independently, but for the purposes of her introduction, she decided to gather them all together.
Clearing her throat and lifting an eyebrow, she called them to attention. "Good morning, all. As many of you know already, I'm Shelby Corcoran, and I'll be taking over for Mrs. Fields for the rest of the year. I assure you that I have plenty of experience regards to the theatre and Dramatic Arts, and so you don't have to worry about me being behind the curve at all."
She scanned the room for a moment, taking in a breath as she saw it but otherwise ignoring her only daughter's potent glare. "As far as I can tell, Mrs. Fields didn't have you working on any particular project, so we'll just start from scratch. Let's start off with a little exercise that'll help me to get to know you all a bit better. Each of you is going to get into groups of three. You'll talk amongst yourselves for ten minutes, about anything school-appropriate that you choose. Do a lot of watching, though. See how your group members speak, major expressions or qualities that come across easily. Then, you'll each write on a piece of paper what you consider to be your five most significant qualities, goals, and habits. You'll then pass it once to your right. Finally, using the items on the paper as well as your own observations, you will introduce yourself to me, as that person.
"Now," she stated, walking within the large circle created by their desks and eyeing them all seriously, "I am very well aware that this is a dangerous game to play with high schoolers. But I'd like to remind you that you chose to be here, and as such, I expect you to take this assignment seriously, and act like adults. I have a zero tolerance policy for childish antics in my classroom, and you won't get a warning before being sent out. Sound good?" The slightly alarmed faces of the children made her smile. "Good. Let's begin."
