New Directions Meeting 9/8
Date: 9/8, after school
Who: New Directions (new members too!)
Where: Choir Room
Summary: Meeting time! Schue has news!
Schue grinned as the kids filed in, one after the other, until the choir room was more full than it had ever been. With four new members, New Directions was now approaching Vocal Adrenaline size. Will was sure that would give them an advantage when they got to Nationals again.
"Good afternoon, everyone. I would like to start out with a warm welcome to our four new members." He smiled at Blaine, Jaime, Castor and Abigail. He already had a thought for a duet with Rachel and Blaine for Regionals. This year, he wasn't going to be waiting for the last minute! He was a professional, and it was time his kids got what they deserved.
"So, let's get down to business. Invitationals are in a few weeks, and I've invited the Dalton Academy Warblers and the Crawford County Day School Songbirds to come have fun with us. Neither of them are in our Sectionals district this year, so there will be no need to compete. The Warblers suggested a theme of Gold Standards, so that's what I'd like you all to be thinking about for the next few meetings. We'll be doing four or five songs this year, so there should be a good opportunity for several people to lead a group number."
Will let this sink in, but before any discussions or arguments could start he continued. "We also must start thinking of fundraising for Nationals. I know, it's early in the game but I don't want to scramble for airfare next year when we could have it all taken care of. Therefore, I'd like to invite all your parents and relatives in for a special performance after Invitationals, so they can see what wonderful things you all have accomplished over the last two years." And, most importantly, give them donations to put towards club expenses.
With that, he dismissed the club so they could gather into small groups and talk about what songs they'd like to sing in the upcoming weeks.
