Rachel blinked herself awake, trying to orient herself to her surroundings as quickly as she could. Very quickly, she was aware that she'd slept much too late. Glancing at the clock, her suspicions were confirmed by the 8:00 blinking back at her. Oh, wow. She hadn't slept this late in months, and even then it was only because her late nights at work had turned into early mornings. Sitting up, it occurred to her that Jaime must have turned off her alarm. He was like that, taking care of her when she didn't do it for herself.
Sighing, she pulled herself out of bed, groaning once she realized that Jaime had taken the twins to school. That was always her job - she was usually gone to a matinee or a rehearsal by the time it was time to pick them up. It was hassle, sometimes (most of the time), but they were quickly learning what it meant to get up and head to school. She loved seeing this milestone. Not to mention that this was their last week of half-day preschool before they started kindergarten in the fall. It was a big deal.
And she'd missed it. All because of an impromptu trip that had turned into a stupid fight that she was still angry about. She didn't want to be, though. All she wanted was an explanation.
Irritated that she was already so frustrated this early in the morning, Rachel shook her head, grabbing her clothes from the day from her closet and heading towards the shower. She wanted to be ready by the time Jaime returned.
