Narative: The new face of New York
Date: Monday, June 11th Characters: Blaine (NPC reporter Jane Green) Location: NBC studio, New York Summary: Blaine gives an interview
Flash flash, smile bright. The world has you in her sight. Blaine was being photographed, as usual. He was smiling, the model of the next generation of politicians out to change the world.
He checked his phone, finding a missed call from Sebastian and then five texts reminding him about the interview. He chuckled lightly over his running-mate and lover's concern. He never missed an interview. His... 'extra' activities only happened very rarely. On special days. Usually with copious amounts of alcohol.
He then stepped into the studio. Make-up artists flitted around him to prepare him for the interview. Finally he was sitting in the chair as the woman opened the interview.
"I'm Jane Green here with New York's own Blaine Anderson. Glad you could join us."
"Always glad to be here, Jane. How's Eddie?" Blaine smiled as the reporter ever so gently flushed and widened her smile to a more relaxed expression.
"He's doing well, and your husband, everyone's favorite fireman Noah Puckerman?"
"He's on a 48 hour so I won't see him much for a few days, very sad."
"It must be so hard for you two. You're on the campaign beat out of the house now and he works such long hours as one of the heroes of New York."
"That's the important thing about our marriage, we both love each other enough to work at making it work. He's always supportive of my campaign. In fact, He'll be joining me when I give talks up in Ithaca next weekend."
"That's to gather support for your lobbying to lower the age of candidacy for Mayor. Can you share with us the logic behind your decision?" The interviewer shifted, the move from casual into the real interview smoothly.
"New York is in need of leadership and with the current Mayor's decision not to run for re-election I think that time is now. I am currently 28 and a mere two years away from the age already. I don't think New York should suffer two more years without a fresh outlook."
"Well put, well we are looking forward to the debates coming up. You'll be in Ithica next weekend and then Syracuse to gather support. We certainly hope you the best Mr. Anderson."
"I thank you from the bottom of my heart." Blaine watched the interview light turn off and the reporter leaned toward him. Her smile was easy, calm and clearly ever so slightly interested in him.
"You have to be one of the most pleasant and photogenic people I have had on the show."
"You say that every time, Jane. You are one of my very favorite reporters."
