Thread: Straightening things out
Who: Rachel and Jaime Where: The Berry home; Rachel's room When: 3/24, night What: Rachel's memory is back, so she needs to get a few things straight with her boyfriend.
Looking at the clock for the sixth time in the last hour, Rachel glanced back down at her history book, willing herself to focus. She'd missed a week of school, and it was important that she was caught up by the time she returned on Monday. Honestly, she didn't know why she was bothering. The teachers hadn't made her do anything for the two weeks that she had to attend with no memory, and she doubted that, with AP tests coming up and graduation right after that, there would be much for her to do in class. Still, she needed something to keep her mind off of things.
When her memories had first started to return, they had been happy ones. She'd had a very happy childhood, after all. Even though things had still been very jumbled, she knew the feeling of happiness. She knew her fathers, and the love they had for her. She felt like she was really beginning to return to herself.
The bad things, though, hit her all at once. She was reminded of her current reality, and the situation she'd found herself in as a girl with no memories. Sorting those things out had been difficult, and helped to remind her how utterly lost she was. Her fathers had been her biggest fans, and now her Dad was beside himself and Daddy was not even there. No matter what, she'd always had them. If her Daddy died...
She shook her head, attempting to remove the very thought from her head. In any case, this was why she needed to see Jaime. He shouldn't have to go through all this with her, especially with all he was experiencing himself. She knew him, and he would be utterly determined to support her, even at the expense of his own emotional well being. He didn't need to worry about being there for her. In fact, he needed someone that could take care of him and she wasn't sure that she could do that right now. It wasn't fair to him.
As the pungent smell of ozone began to permeate the air, she closed her eyes and breathed deeply, preparing herself for the conversation that was about to take place. "Hi, Jaime." She said without opening her eyes, knowing the exact moment he'd arrived.
