Back Dated Thread: Pol and Jadyn meet with memories restored
Who: Pol & Jadyn When: Mon March 12st, Afterschool (BACKDATED) Where: McKinely, field out back Warnings: Just language What: Jadyn remembers Pol and needs his touch and affection as much as he does
Pol paced, blinking back and forth. What could possible be wrong with her? Had Quinn and her started fighting? Without Jadyn's memories all Pol's work getting them to realize they should be lovers was lost.
Jadyn took her time making her way to where Pollux was waiting, a sense of wariness settling over her. She wasn’t sure why she was so anxious though. It wasn’t like he cared about her any less just because he’d more or less left her alone when she’d lost her memories. There was proof that he cared right on her journal, so really, it was silly to be nervous but she couldn’t help it.
She didn’t start to relax until she finally spotted him, pacing and blinking worriedly. The tension melted from her body as her legs ate up the final few yards between them. She knew it was probably a bad idea with him so worked up but the moment he turned/blinked in her direction, she threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around him as she buried her face in his neck.
"ACK!" Pollux jolted back and immediately grinned. God it'd been too long since he was near her. He took a deep breath of her scent. "Jadyn. Are you alright?" He didn't stop hugging her.
Jadyn nodded, her face still turned into his neck. She didn’t want to worry him but she’d been missing him, the connection she had developed with him and she didn’t want to let go just yet. She breathed deeply, taking comfort in being surrounded by everything that was him for a moment before releasing him reluctantly and taking a step back.
“Sorry.” She murmured, averting her eyes as she shoved her hands into the back pockets of her jeans. Her jaw tensed before she released a heavy sigh. She’d been apologizing a lot lately, and it seemed she wasn’t done yet.
He grabbed her arm, tugging her back against him. It had been too long for him to be able to stop touching, feeling her near to his heart. "Get back over here. Who said you could stop hugging." He laughed a little at his own intensity. "Tell me what's going on. I thought you didn't remember me."
Jadyn smiled, whatever vestiges of doubt that had remained within her vanishing as she fell back into his arms. Her own arms wrapped securely around his waist and she leaned her head on his shoulder, nuzzling into his neck and relaxing completely.
“I didn’t, not until a few days ago.”
"You remember... Jadyn." He kissed at her hair. "I missed you. I missed so much. Not being able to check on you or talk to you.... It was hell."
She bit down on the whimper trying to escape her lips at his words. It was fine, she was fine. He was there, he was holding her, and he loved her, so there was no reason for her to be upset. Still, she turned her face into his neck, as if to hide her tears, her arms pulling tighter. Why couldn’t she get closer?
“I missed you too, so much” Her words were muffled against his shirt and collar bone, but she had no intention of moving. “It’s like I was locked away inside my own mind, and now that I’m finally free, all the things I should have been feeling over those two weeks are hitting me all at once.” She shuddered at the thought of being locked inside her own mind. She never wanted that to happen again, ever. “Does that make sense?”
"Yes it makes sense." He petted over her spine, slipping his hand under her collar to touch skin to skin. He pressed as much of himself as he could against her without stripping her bare. "Holding it in, even if you don't know it will do that to you. Do you remember Quinn?"
Jadyn’s entire body tensed at the mention of Quinn’s name. She hadn’t meant to and she certainly hadn’t meant to make Pollux aware of it but she couldn’t help it. Quinn. Of course she remembered the blonde. She also remembered all the things she’d done to the other girl and it made her squeeze her eyes shut tight in shame.
“Yes.” She whispered, finally answering his question. “I remember her.”
"Jadyn sweetheart." He cooed. "Quinn cares about you. You care for her. You've gotten through the bad parts already."
Despite his reassurances, she wasn’t convinced. Sure she cared for Quinn. A lot. But she wasn’t sure if the same could be said of the other girl. Before she lost her memories, things between them had been so volatile, so heated. Things got out of hand so fast it was hard to tell what was lust and what was...something else. She clenched her jaw, not wanting to think about it, and nodded stiffly.
He pressed kisses to her hair, to both of her cheeks. "Wait until she hears. Won't be able to pry you two off eachother."
“What if you’re wrong?” The words slipped past her lips before she could even think to stop them. Basking in the love he was showering on her, she’d relaxed to the point that her insecurities just slipped right past her defenses. Now that her fear was out in the open, she didn’t hesitate to continue. “What if she wants nothing to do with me?”
"Trust me." He cooed, his nails lightly scratching at her scalp. "She was just as terrified and confused about the emotions as you were."
Jadyn couldn’t help the purr she released at the feel of him scratching at her scalp. Ever since getting her memories back, she had been better about reacting instinctively, practically letting her abilities influence her actions, instead of logically, but this was different. This was Pollux. And he was telling her that maybe she did have a chance with Quinn. So she let her animal side free to show him just how much she appreciated his actions and words.
She pushed her hands under his shirt and across the planes of his back, needing more skin to skin contact as she settled against him.
“I saw her once.” She murmured against his chest after a moment. “Quinn. I ran into her when I didn’t remember who she was.”
Pollux just pulled off his shirt, what was the point? He rucked up hers as far as it would go and wrapped both arms around her. His forearms and hands spanned most of her back. "What happened?"
Jadyn shuddered and sighed heavily, resisting the urge to rub her bare stomach against his before relaxing against him again.
“We bumped into each other in the library. It seems we can never be in the same room together without colliding in some way.” She smiled ruefully before continuing. “We talked for a little bit, but then I lost control of my powers.”
"Oh impulsive Jadyn. Did you try to possess her?"
She laughed, poking him in the side playfully.
“No, I did not try to possess her. My regenerating abilities kicked in and she basically saw me rip my own flesh off.”
"Gross... not fun. I'm surprised she didn't contact me.... We haven't really.. talked much since it all happened." He sighed, knowing it wouldn't please Jadyn to hear.
She frowned, her eyebrows furrowing. Quinn and Pollux weren’t talking? What did that mean? They were as close to each other as she and Pollux were, so why weren’t they speaking to one another? Had they gotten into a fight while she’d been oblivious to who they were? The thought only caused Jadyn’s frown to deepen. There was really only one way to find out, wasn’t there.
“Why?”
"It was easier not to be near. The storm and the deaths and the training... It was easy to be apart." He sighed into her neck. "It was too hard for us to see eachother having lost you. We reminded eachother of the lack of you in our lives."
She supposed what he said was meant to assuage her, make her feel better, but it only made her feel worse. She tried to pull back so that she could look at him.
“You’re not talking because of me?”
There might have been a time, before she’d actually met Quinn, where she might have enjoyed hearing that, been silently pleased at the least. But now, it bothered her immensely. If anything, Pollux and Quinn should have been turning to each other even more during the aftermath of the storm, not less.
Pol kept his hands at her waist as she pulled back. He glanced away from her eyes, feeling censure from his Jadyn. "It was hard. Too hard for us to see eachother during it. So many people died and in a way so did you. We grieved you... alone."
Jadyn softened as Pollux looked away, her heart aching for him and Quinn. She wanted them to go to Quinn right then, to comfort them both, but she wasn’t sure Quinn was ready for either of them, much less the both of them suddenly.
But Pollux needed her reassurance now, and she would give it to him. Cupping his cheek with her hand and gripping him tightly with the other, she guided his head until she could look into his eyes.
“I’m here now.” She pressed her forehead to his, her voice soft. “And I won’t ever leave you again, as long as I can help it.”
Pollux shuddered, the tears breaking free. He had lost so many people. Jadyn was the first in this place he'd connected to, the first he'd cared for, the first he'd loved. When his brother had left him for the Man-Mountain it was Jadyn who heard his need, his search for connection and became dear. They were unsure of each other and alone in so many ways until they met. No one knew him like that even Quinn... Quinn had so many wall herself that Pol was still trying to understand. Jadyn had offered a connection that was pure, like the one to his brother and he needed it.
His tears fell on Jadyn, emotions of loss that he couldn't dare express pushing from him finally. "I missed you so much."
A small whine punctured the air but Jadyn stayed strong, because that was what Pollux needed from her. He needed to know that she was there, that she was okay, and that she loved him, just like she’d needed the confirmation from him. Moving her hand to the back of his neck, she pulled his head to her shoulder. She gripped firmly, her nails grazing the skin at the back of his neck as she pressed her lips to the spot below his ear.
“I love you Pollux.” She whispered against his skin, her eyes slipping closed.
He let out a breath, the tears slowing, but still dripping from his eyelashes. He nuzzled against her neck. "I love you Jadyn." He slipped into his twin speak, breathing her name against her skin. It was special, one no other person would ever know.
