Richard had to pull his other manifestations around the globe back and focus on just this one as he reached out and took Bethan's phone to plug his name and phone number into it. Of course the number was for a proxy that was routed halfway around the world and then back before it reached his physical phone, but she didn't need to know that. Concentrating very hard so that he could handle the phone without letting it slip literally through his fingers, Richard finished his task and handed the phone back before he could even think of formulating a reply.
"Well, you're the first we've approached in Lima," he answered truthfully, "but I doubt you'll be the last. This really is a curious place. So many supers packed into so little square mileage. That's no coincidence."
Richard walked backwards a few steps as he pointed at the phone in Bethan's hand and said, "Don't forget. Just let me know where and when you'd like to meet. The ball's in your court now." And then he severed his link with that manifestation, which disappeared into thin air.
