"I'll watch out for that, then," Bethan muttered, holding her phone out to him, her eyes meeting his more than a little mistrustfully. She still wasn't sure how to feel about this, but she knew for sure that she didn't trust him. But what was the worst he could do with her phone while she was watching him like a hawk? Even if he tried to run off with it, he was on foot and she was on a bike, it'd be simple to run him off the road.
It occurred to her too late that maybe in a world full of superpowers she shouldn't be so complacent about what might be possible - especially as she didn't know if he had a power or what it was - but by that point the chances of losing face by taking it back were much more serious than the chances of him somehow laying her whole scheme open in thirty seconds with her phone. There was cautious, and there was paranoid, and paranoia had lost many a military campaign.
"Are you approaching other people, or just me?" She didn't really expect a straight answer, but it was worth asking.
