Thread: Tea for Two Date: February 20, Monday Characters: Castor and Jaime Location: Jaime's house Summary:Castor brings Jaime tea and tries to cheer him up.
After texting Cas his address, Jaime sighed, looking around. He avoided the living room where his father had...But the rest of the house was as tidy as it could be. Jadyn and his mother had cleaned up all the glass and debris while he was at the hospital, and boarded up all of the windows that had been blown out. He wasn't sure how that had happened, but most of the downstairs already had replacement windows. He would be able to see out of his own window by the end of the week. Not that it mattered.
He sighed again, swallowing against the ache in his throat. It was just his healing tissue and not because he felt like he might cry again. He refused to believe anything else. More than anything, he missed Jadyn being there him. His mother had gone to work early, which left him all alone with the silence. At least when Jadyn was there, the simple sound of her breathing while he curled up beside her was enough to help him sleep. She'd stayed with him all of Friday night as he cried and talked himself out, and the rest of the weekend after that.
But she wasn't there now. She'd tried to sneak out without waking him up, but it was of no use. Because when she was gone, that was when the nightmares started. When he remembered the screams, his own and others. That was when he remembered the bodies...remembered the pain. Jadyn couldn't have been gone more than twenty minutes before he awoke in a cold sweat. He'd almost become frantic, afraid that he'd dreamed her being there and okay, but then he'd found her note that said she was going out with a friend to kidnap an Irish drunk man.
He knew she was trying her best to cheer him up while she was gone, but all he could do was send her a text that pleaded that she be careful. Ever since the fire on Saturday, he'd been wary about her going out by herself, despite him not wanting to go anywhere himself. She'd replied that she would be fine and that he needed to relax but he couldn't quell his worry. He couldn't lose her. After everything that had happened, he couldn't loose her too.
Turning on his heal swiftly, he headed to the kitchen in search of any cups that hadn't shattered during the storm. Castor would be there soon with tea. Hopefully that would soothe the headache he felt coming on. And maybe his soul too, if just for a little while.
