Tina sighed as she smoothed her hands over the dark blue of her 1950's esque a line dress. It was hideous and something that she imagined Rachel would adore. It was unfortunately also fashionably acceptable here and her mother had forced her into it. When she complained that she should be able to wear what she wanted like her mother always taught, her mother promptly reminded her that there were two places that they couldn't, synagogue and the country club. Over her shoulder, Tina's dad was mouthing the worth hypocrite, and shrugging.
So here she was, sitting with children from a few of Ohio's elite families, talking about trust funds and future college and law school plans, wishing she could just stick her head in the punch and drown herself.
