Thread: Gracie and Jadyn meet face to face Who: Gracie and Jadyn What: Gracie encounters Jadyn when she's most vulnerable When: November 27, Afternoon (Backdated) Where: The Abandoned Hospital
Jadyn sighed in frustration, straightening her stance. This was the third time she'd tried to go through her Tai Chi forms and failed to make it past her second stance. Ever since her argument with Jaime a few days ago, she hadn't been able to concentrate on any one thing for more than a few moments. The constant distraction with no actual way to distract herself at home was beginning to drive her insane so she'd decided to go for a walk, which had led her to the old Abandoned Hospital, Beau trotting along quietly beside her.
When she finally realized where she was, she'd taken comfort in the quiet and solitude. But now, she couldn't seem to focus. Sighing again, she looked up at the old, decrepit building looming over her. She hadn't really been inside at all since she started going there and she figured 'why not?'. It wasn't like she was doing anything important anyway. That thought in mind, she and Beau, who had been peacefully watching her while lying in the grass, made their way inside.
She wasn't sure how long she'd spent exploring the hospital. As it turned out, the inside was a lot more fascinating than one might be led to believe. She found all sorts if rooms. Normal rooms and observation rooms. But the most interesting were the rooms that seemed to be designed for a specific purpose. After a bit of investigating, it didn't take Jadyn long to come to the conclusion that these special rooms had something to do with those of the 'Super Power' persuasion. Becoming that much more intrigued, she wandered further into the hospital.
Soon enough she came across another special room, she could tell by the faint symbols above the door frame, but this door was closed. While it wasn't anything out of the ordinary, when she reached up to push the door open, a wave of uneasiness washed over her, causing her to hesitate. She didn't know what was behind the door, but some part of her obviously didn't want to find out. And yet, an even bigger part of her wanted to know. So she shook off her uneasiness and opened the door.
At first she couldn't see anything out of the ordinary. Just a simple single bed in the middle of an empty room. But just as she was about to write it off as nothing more than that, something on the bed caught her eye. Or rather, hanging off the side of the bed. There were four to be precise and Jadyn's heart seized when she realized what the objects were.
Straps. Restraint straps. The kind that were used to hold a patient down. The kind that were used to hold her down.
Suddenly, Jadyn was back in Japan, in the psychiatric ward of the hospital, screaming and crying as nurses in stark white uniforms held her down to secure the straps around her arms and legs. All while a faceless doctor loomed over her with a syringe.
Jadyn began to hyperventilate as the shadows of her memories began to crowd in on her.
"Nonononono." She chanted to herself, squeezing her eyes closed in an attempt to escape the terror that trying to consume her. It wasn't until Beau barked sharply at her that she snapped out of her panicked trance long enough to escape the room.
She ran, and she kept running until she was outside, leaning heavily against the chain-link fence surrounding the hospital. She panted as her fingers gripped the thin steel tightly, her eyes closed. Tremors ran through her body as she tried to force those horrible memories into the back of her mind.
More than anything, she wanted Jaime there to hold her and promise that everything was ok. That she was ok and that he loved her. But Jaime wasn't there, all because she'd upset him.
She could feel the sting of tears behind her eyes, and she squeezed her eyelids tighter in an attempt to keep from crying. Beau nudged her thigh with his nose, a high pitched whimper sounding through the air. At least she had Beau by her side. If it weren't for him, she might have still been in the hospital, incapacitated by her fear. She dropped her hand to her side so that he could sniff and lick at it.
"I'm okay." She told him, looking down at with a soft smile. "Thank you for saving me." Beau barked twice before nudging her hand and whining, causing her to chuckle.
"You worry too much." She teased but her mirth faded when he suddenly jumped to her right, placing his body between her and the bushes that he was growling menacingly at, a few yards away. That's when she sensed it too. Someone was in the bushes, watching them. She straightened her posture and stepped beside Beau, whose ears had flattened, his body set to pounce.
"You might as well come out, or he'll just come in after you." She called.
