Text to Rachel Date: November 20, After Midnight Characters: Jaime and Rachel Subject: Jaime misses his girlfriend
Jaime laid on his bed, staring up at his ceiling with his hands behind his head. He was trying desperately not to reach for his cell phone and do the one thing he wanted to do. Text Rachel. All night, he'd had to find way to distract himself from the fact that hadn't really seen or spoken to her since Friday night. He'd had to be in to work early Saturday as well, so he hadn't even been able to tell her that he was leaving. Or more like he could have, but chose not to wake her up when he left that morning, simply kissing her forehead softly before he left.
All day he'd been busy, first at his own job, and then helping out at his mother's clinic. By the time he finally got home, he knew that Rachel would be getting ready for her sleepover with Olivia and he didn't want to distract her. With Jadyn going out with Pollux, which he was glad for since it meant that Jaime wasn't the center of her world anymore, that left him to his own devices for the night. So he'd done everything he could possibly think of to distract him from imposing on her girl's night with Liv.
He'd watched movies, played video games, his guitar, chess and solitaire, and finally, practiced using his powers to transport small objects from one part of his room to another. Now, having exhausted every interest he could think of, thoughts of Rachel were free to run rampant through his mind. But still he resisted the urge to text her. He didn't want her to think that he couldn't go twenty-four hours without talking to her. It made him seem clingy, and he was not clingy. No one wanted a clingy boyfriend.
But he could at least text her to say 'goodnight'. People liked boyfriends that wished them 'goodnight', even if they haven't seen one another all day, because it showed that their boyfriend's cared, right? Right. And if he and Rachel happened to talk about their day and/or night, then that was good too. With that thought in his mind and a smile on his face, Jaime reached for his phone.
To: Rachel From: Jaime
Hey. I wanted to wish you goodnight. Simply because it shows that I care, and not because I miss you terribly :)
