Thread: Bad news and storms
When: 10/24, morning before class
Who: Quinn and Puck
Where: Outside school
What: Quinn gets bad news, compounding a week of hell, and just looses control. Cue thunder storm.
Warnings: Potential language warning
(Note: Monday Morning class will be accompanied by a Thunderstorm of epic and sudden proportions)
Beyond a shadow of a doubt, Quinn would've never imagined her life taking this turn. Not only were they talking about super powers -entirely annoying, and stupid ones in her opinion- but her home life was taking yet another annoying twist.
From her father's girlfriends birthday, and the dinner that she was forced to attend to celebrate (and if that little trollop kept calling her 'Lucy' then Quinn was going to stab her in the face with something sharp and rusty, just on principle) to the agony of always losing the nerve to just talk to Ms Corcoran about little Beth. Three miss attempts in two days was not Quinn's style, not to mention the horrible moment on Friday where Quinn got as far as the first syllable before freezing up and turning away.
She had no idea what she even wanted; to see Beth, to know how she was, to just know that Shelby was the right woman to raise her. There was just this pang every time she thought about trying to talk to the woman raising her daughter and Quinn just never went through with it.
Monday, she assured herself, she'd do it on Monday, so when Monday came around she set herself up for it. Crossing the parking lot, hearing her phone chime with her text message alert, she assumed maybe Brittany was enquiring about her classes again. But when she found out his was him, she stopped in the middle of the car park, reading the text message.
She was to keep the fourteenth of February free next year, she was to keep her plans clear. Because her father was marrying his whore of a girlfriend. What the ever loving-
Her parents divorce had only just been finalised. The ink wasn't even dry. Her mother had told her on Friday. They were already setting a date of a wedding? That troll was going to be her step mother? Quinn just felt the anger boil; her frustration over Beth, her annoyance at her mother's smoking and drinking and lack of caring about the break down of her marriage, her father's hypocritical bullshit about fidelity and chastity and he was the reason she didn't have her daughter. His disregard for her just because she'd done what he had done, she'd had sexual relations out of wedlock -he was cheating on his wife, he was breaking his marriage vows, he was such a-
That hypocritical ass just broke the camels back.
The clouds just rolled in, Quinn wasn't focusing on anything, not as the rain started to pelt down, not as the sky darkened to near blackness and the rumble of thunder started, not as lightning cracked the sky with light. Her father, her dirt bag, useless, waste of time father who lied to her, made her feel like she wasn't good enough, made her give up the only thing she'd loved without question, made her- Quinn couldn't manage all the rage and thoughts in her head. Multiple lightning strikes struck down in the parking lot, localising in a sort of square around Quinn's position as the rain lashed down.
It all centred on the school, the clouds covering the school grounds, but barely spreading beyond it, the lightning only striking the parking lot, the rain stopping like a barrier just shy of the football field. Quinn barely took any of it in, even as she was soaked to the bone.
She just didn't care right then.
