[Thread] All Dolled Up And No Place To Go Thread: All Dolled Up And No Place To Go Date: 8/31, after school. Characters: Abigail, Kurt, ??? Location: English Classroom, Fashion Meeting Summary: Abigail attempts to host the first meeting for the fashion club - it does not go well.
Fresh cupcakes, petite gift bags, a pristine eggshell table setting, folding chairs with silk seat cushions, hangers holding an array of pricey ensembles, even a professional model. Everything was perfect-
Except no one was there.
She tried to not let it get to her, for the first hour, but as time went on and the cupcakes went stale, the model had to leave and she resigned herself to the floor. Her brand new gown she had worn just for the occasions spread itself in the center of the classroom like a rug with a girl poking out from the center. She held back any signs of tears, wore the same smile she had plastered on for the past fifteen years. She tried her best to make sure that if anyone somehow managed to find her, they wouldn't see anything was wrong, apart from her poking mindlessly at one of the cupcakes until it was smashed to bits on a plate.
She was used to disappointment, she knew what it felt like, but it never seemed to get any easier. If anything, the more times it happened, the more it hurt her.
She thought she had done everything right; made an announcement, posted flyers, placed formal invitations in the lockers of the students she saw with a article of clothing of theirs she could appreciate. She got permission of the faculty, wedged a hole into her schedule to plan this event and spent a whole sunday just picking out the perfect little gift bags. She tried so hard, too damn hard, like how she always tried. Trying this hard worked for other things, her academics, her extracurriculars, but not her social life. Somehow no matter how hard she tried she'd always get an F- in the friends department.
She didn't have a heart to give it another go, but she promised herself she would wait until the meeting was officially over before leaving the classroom. Five minutes to go.
