It hadn't been luck so much as avoiding anything that might force him to do math for decades on end. It wasn't that he was bad at it, but it was so mind numbing. And Julius hated being bored. Only boring people were bored, as he'd said many times to many people. So he didn't do it. Someone else could handle it. "How did you get put into the system?" Julius had always managed to avoid that as well. Then again, he'd been very good at faking his paperwork and disappearing after a spell. "The only times I've paid taxes on anything were my stint at the winery and a few years back when I opened a distillery." Because opening a business sort of required that sort of thing. Otherwise, he'd always worked out a system of getting paid under the table. Even when he was freelancing for magazines. It was amazing the lengths employers would go to avoid dealing with the government if you just... Nudged them a little. "And here, I guess, but at least I know where that money's going." At least, he hoped he knew where it was going.
Julius winced. Something about the word specimens really squicked him out these days. "Ah well. I suppose that's fair." There was really no end to danger in the world, but he still maintained iron was the one thing that worried him most. It was why he'd avoided guns as much as possible when he was in the mob. Both times.
Ah, that made sense. "No, I buy that more, actually." He'd forgotten there were non-prince characters in Disney movies, honestly. He let out a short laugh and shrugged. "I suppose it's possible. I think you'd be more of one of the ones with the especially big eyes and an actual name. What's the one with the Mermaid?"
