Re: Julius + Maeve Sunrise
That was a fair point. But not about whether or not she was a good thief, but more about if he'd figured out who she was and what she was there for and had let him get away with the mask as was his intention, would he appreciate her as much? If she'd let him win? Where was the fun in that? "Nah, I like knowing you didn't let me win, no matter how nice I looked in a Yukata." It was tongue and cheek, but he liked knowing if there was one person his charm couldn't win over so easily, it was her.
That earned a nod without judgement, considering he'd assumed as much. He tapped her knee affectionately. "Glad you didn't."
It hadn't been where he'd been going at all, and yet... It was not an unwelcome change in direction. There was definitely a time and place for everything, and while the slow burn, the flirting and teasing and savoring of each other was definitely his favorite, he hadn't made it any secret that a well placed bite did as much for him as a feather light touch. There had definitely been a couple of people he'd trusted enough to throw him around a bit, and he wasn't against it. "You did, did you?" He asked, an eyebrow climbing up his forehead with apparent interest, definitely not knocking the idea.
Julius snorted. "So could I. That's why I'm hoping for something more useful." Unless someone had some nice magic incense that helped clear old magic and assisted with a good night's sleep, stinking up the place was not his aim. If it was, he'd smoke inside. Her comment earned another snort of laughter. "I hope you weren't that gullible."
