When Lucas first came into Summerview, his impression was that it was a sleepy town. Not much going on. At least, at first glance. And really, what wild exciting life was the good doctor leading anyhow? Well he wasn't leading one. He went to work, went home to the B&B he had inherited that was older than him even, ironed all his clothes for the week, slept and went to work again in the morning. There were some variations here and there but it was mostly him staying at home, doing relatively the same thing.
He'd grown accustomed to staying home and taking care of his dad the last handful of years. Just the two of them. And Fox, his special cat that he rescued off the streets of Dallas. He never dreamed of bigger and better things. That was his mom and he was determined to avoid that life at all costs.
Besides, he enjoyed what he did at the hospital. Even if it meant helping someone take care of a headache, he considered it a good day.
Even if it meant having a headache or two of his own.
When Lucas wasn't working at the hospital, he picked up volunteering at the Minute Clinic. It was also a good way to get to know people in the field. The receptionists and other doctors there had been doing this for awhile now and were mostly burnt out but still trudged on with a smile on their face. Well, most of them anyhow. When they saw him come in on his first day, they looked relieved for the extra help and immediately gave him his first file and patient to go with it.
"Rasmus Rune, hello." Lucas entered the little clinic room with file in hand. The nurse had warned him briefly about this particular patient but he had waved her off, sure that no patient could be THAT bad.
Of course, when he spotted the notebook and pen in Mr Rune's hand, he started to rethink that.
"Uh." He went over to the counter and pulled the little stool out from underneath so he could sit down. "Taking notes already? I've been told I pop a real mean quiz."
